He would've gotten hit more. You should thank Diaz for continuously telling Cotto to tighten up his high guard defense.

LOL Funny how his fans just take his word for it.

Floyd also said Cotto looked dry after the weigh-in, so I guess that's true too--must be why Cotto lost (sarcasm).

I'm going to say that it was Cotto's high-sox that slowed him down a bit.

I seriously doubt that a cold causes someone to lose 4 pounds in about a 24hr timeframe unless it is not a cold, but something more serious that severely restricts the diet and causes an excess loss of body fluids like diarrhea and vomit. Something like that would be evident on fight night.

Come on people--wake up or else you might sound full of it just like your favorite boxer.

you got a good point but at times
I believe in round 9 he had Floyd
but he stepped back (of course is easy
          for me to say)

Cotto got the blood and the glory. That is what he gets for calling himself the greatest to ever lace up gloves. Boxing purists are going to hold you to that. Now we know why Floyd won't give Manny 50/50, it's because Manny has something left and would be a match-up disaster for him. He would have to work too hard and at this stage, who knows how much Cotto took out of him.
I said before this fight that win or lose it would be the beginning of the end of Floyd's reign. My champion busted him up, made him pay a price and might have even retired his ass from what I hear. Anyways, would not be surprised at all if Mayweather loses his next fight.

Agreed. That is what saved Cotto. Cotto could not have won that fight. Cotto had two clear rounds he won, and that was the 6th and 8th rounds. Blood from Floyd's nose was a nice optic, but should not win you rounds. Cotto was in the best shape of his life, had the best fight plan(offense/defense) for his skill set, plus great desire to win. And with all of that, the fight was not close.

How did you come up with this? Because Floyd got a bloody nose. Is it the end of Cotto's career? Floyd gave more of a ass-whooping that he took.

By being at his best he forced Mayweather into going up a gear and proving that as well as being a sharp clever defensive fighter he is a tough, gritty and determined one too. Like i said i thought it was real close Floyd knows it too, he has said Cotto was his toughest ever foe. But that dont detract from Floyd IMO it only proves how good Miguel is or at very least was on this given night. THAT Cotto would beat Pacquaio. Im sure of it. And the closeness of the fight hasnt changed my opinion on Mayweather vs Pacquaio at all - Floyd wins! Manny has his strengths and a lot of em but he isnt good against counterpunchers and they dont come better than Mayweather....
