Did you watch any of hattons fights apart from Mayweather and Pacquiao? He almost got KO'd in a tune up fight against Lazcano after Mayweather. His yo yo weight took it out of him. Having to lose 20+lbs in 8 weeks and then draining another 10lb his going to take a hell of alot out of someones body especially after doing it multiple times.Comment

Oh please.. We are talking about cutting down on weight..aren't we..When he fought Hatton he weighed in at 139.. That's 3 lbs from his last weigh in (142).. Are you telling me that the 3 lbs does not affect him, while the 1lb from Cotto does..So you are telling me its nothing for Pac while its draining for Cotto.. lol..Comment

Fact is, Hatton's best weight was always 140. Whether he ballooned between fights doesn't change the fact that he was fighting outside his best weight class for Floyd and in best weight class against Pac.Did you watch any of hattons fights apart from Mayweather and Pacquiao? I agree but boxing is business and floyd is the cash cow not cotto.Floyd knows he lost in the fact he felt more beat up than Cotto, and felt even worse than after fighting Castillo.
Cotto was the toughest.
Floyd is just greatful judges meticulously count his punches that land even the pitty patty ones that are easier to land as they have no power.Comment

let's hope so. they had a good training camp and prepared well. cotto looked like he didn't give a shit what diaz was yelling at him in the corner though. the dude was all up on his face too lol. i remember cotto saying on 24/7 that the guy was obnoxiously loud. he wasn't fond of his style but trusted his methods... we'll see.Last edited by John Barron; 05-07-2012, 05:50 AM.Comment

Yes, you're the only person on this forum who's ever had to cut weight. If it was so hard then why did Cotto come in at 146 for Clottey? Why didn't he need to skip for an hour to make 145 for Pac? When fighters have trouble they usually come in over weight (like Floyd against Marquez), not underweight (like Cotto against Clottey).Comment

If you know anything about boxing you would know fighters find it harder to make weight as they get older and move up in weight. Cotto had come to that point for the Pacquiao fight. A persons body can change a lot in 5 months and like as been asked so many times, why ask for 145 if it wasn't going to affect Cotto.Again, fighters move up in weight class all the time, it doesn't mean they were struggling every time to make weight. So should Cotto get special credit for all his wins at 147 cause he was struggling at that weight? And if 147 was so difficult for him why did he weigh 146 for Clottey, 5 months before the Pac fight?Comment
