They may or not lose money who knows? For them to make money off the Pac-Mosley fight they would need to attain a certain level of PPV buys, And with Mosley's previous two fights they might feel it would hinder the sales.

Showtime's Fight Camp 360 is a lot better than HBO's 24/7 show, so that'll be something to look forward to, with this fight! And if the fight does good numbers, it may turn to a multi-fight deal.

There was a report the other day that Ross Greenburg was visibly depressed when he heard the news. HBO is trying to save face. HBO is screwed if they think GBP can sell PPV's like Top Rank. Gbp doesn't know how to promote their fighters hence Mosley 16 months inactive after the biggest win of his career.

Good post man.. it's not just Pac, it's Cotto too.

HBO has to be kicking themselves. These guys have more drawing power than any active fighters today.

cotto - mayorga, Pac - mosely and last time I heard, Cotto - Margacheato II also on Showtime this june...

These three fights are the top PPV you can get this year and I dont think HBO have any fights that can compete on these three fights in terms of PPV numbers... unless Floyd comes out from his vacation...

I think this will be good for HBO in the long run. They have completely forgot how to do boxing properly. They don't build opponents anymore, give away to much money, allow promoters way to much power, rely on to many old names.

Hopefully losing Cotto and Pac will make them realize they need to refocus what they do in boxing and how to do it.

                  Showtime is kicking there ass.

Showtime put on a tournament no one thought possible. To get all those fighters, managers, promoters to agree is amazing.

HBO couldn't even get Floyd/Pac done.

sergio is a big hit for us hardcore boxing fans... but right now, he cant sell PPV unless he will fight a big name fighter... the problem is, GBP or HBO dont have a big name fighter that they can match with Sergio, maybe floyd?

who cares? pac isnt the be all end all of boxing hes just one guy, he just fights bums, mosley pac probably will sell as much as pac clottey did, so hbo probably doesnt even care, besides pac is on his way out too, theres lots of fresh blood, again pac doesnt run boxing, when he actually fights a champion in his prime which will probably be never yeah theyll probably care, but hbo has dominated showtime since the tyson era. hbo just has better production quality, makes showtime look like amateur hour.
