Comments Thread For: Adamek vs McBride Set For April in Newark, New Jersey?

Several news outlets in Poland are reporting that an agreement has been put together for an April fight between Tomasz Adamek (43-1, 28 KOs) and Kevin McBride (35-8-1, 29 KOs). McBride stands at 6'6 and viewed by Adamek's camp a suitable opponent before his scheduled fight with WBO/IBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko in September.

Oh, Tomas. You just had to go and ruin it. Mind you, it'll be fun watching Tunney scrambling to defend this one; real test of his mental capabilities coming up.

he should have fought firtha but i think because mcbride is irish & new york has a large irish population its not a surprise but for quality of opponent firtha was by far the better choice.mcbride just sucks! zack page the durable JM beat him...

Might have known McBride would get the nod over Firtha, given Adamek's crack at a Klitschko is signed and sealed, but it's still disappointing. Adamek is not a big puncher by heavyweight standards but he'll get big Kevin out of there pretty quick. A total mismatch.

The choice of opponent makes sense.

If Adamek had a world title, the choice of an opponent like McBride or Audley Harrison would be unacceptable, but he doesn't have a title.

Adamek will finally have a much-deserved big payday in September, so of course he's not going to jeopardize that.

It wouldnt make sense for Adamek to take a risky fight here and take the chance of losing a big fight with Wlad. This is just a stay busy fight and a payday between now and September.

But it is acceptable to jeopardise the biggest pay day of your career to face Chisora. Once again Klit fans and their double standards.

No, fighting Chisora didn't jeopardize anything.

Haye was looking for an excuse to bitch out again.

Then why did Wlad give him one but then again you think Harrision fight was a joke which it was, but he still has a much better resume then woman beating man ear eating Chisora.
