Nobody doubted by the time he stepped in with Hopkins that he was too small, and in fact most predicted he'd smash Bhop flat too. BHop defeated him with pure sublime skill and conditioning. Tito lost because he got hit like a punching bag and couldnt touch Hopkins.

You have Hagler in your avatar. Hmm..... Roberto Duran?
It does not change the fact that he was just smaller, Tito might have been the "natural middleweight" but Hopkins was much closer to natural cruiserweight.
Hopkins should not be talking here about size advantages or athletism, since he always had a plenty of first and a lack of second.

What, do you need him to come right out and say, "I hate the Klitschkos because they are white."
Whilst his comments might be racially motivated.

"No white boy is gonna beat me" - This comment has to be taken with a pinch of salt he was trying to show joe up to his face and got carried away, but yes I agree it is a ****** thing to say.

"Black genetic superiority" - In boxing and some sports you have to agree with this. I have talked with my friends about this many times, and yes in some sports generally open skilled sports black athletes have superior physiology. When dealing purely with athleticism they have an advantage over other races. In terms of boxing I think this is also true, generally the best fighters of most era's have been african american...going back to joe louis, sugar ray robinson, then the welterweight era in the 80's, roy jones in the 90's, and floyd mayweather in the last decade...all wonderful fighters and all carried a certain style, elegance, and accuracy of movement that only a black fighter could possess imo. Thing is I have left out so many other dominant black fighters, the list is endless. It is true that there was always great hispanic, white, and more recently asian fighters who have been great rivals, but generally when you think of the best of the best, if you made a list of the top 10, or 20, there would be more black fighters than any other race.

Come on -- he's said plenty about race.

He already said blacks are "genetically superior athletes."

So when he dimisses the Klitschkos as "lucky," of course it's about race.

To dismiss what they've achieved as mere "luck" is outrageous.
Do you not understand hopkins mentioned not a single thing about race and this was simply a blogger stirring up some ****?

Yeah hopkins has made comments about race in the past, agree or disagree I don't care but this blog is on some false ****. Read it for yourself if you haven't already hopkins didn't say a single thing about race.

Again, is it wrong to think the Klitschkos are lucky to be a weak ass division? This has been a very popular belief amongst the boxing world for a long time. I don't know why this is so shocking.

Being smaller is not the reason why he lost.

Hopkins a natural cruserweight? If that's the case then consistently making the middleweight limit would've affected him, but it didn't.

No, David Haye is lucky, Antonio Tarver is lucky. Prolonged periods of complete domination is not luck, its a statistic.

Give a dog a bad name and it sticks.

Hopkins really didn't say anything derogatory about the Klitschko's -- the author is reading into it a bit too much. Still, Hops would be best to keep his mouth shut.

Pfft, Diego Corrales used to come in to his junior lightweight fights at around 154, lean tall guys always have an advantage when it comes to shedding and regaining weight come fight night. And being a bigger and stronger fighter always has benefits both offensively and defensively.

You're seriously going to argue that K2's domination isn't a result of them being in a weak division?

Yeah it is true that the middleweight division was weak but he has enough marquee names on his record to justify his atg career. Even in the fights with oscar and tito if you actually watch the fight and observe he didn't fight them like a bigger man, he wasn't just bullying them using his size and strength he actually beat them with finesse and speed, defence, and brains, because that is his style. He fought roy jones when roy was knocking everyone out in the early part of his career and b-hop himself was still green, and gave him hell, so much so that jones never went anywhere near him during his prime years. You can't compare him with the klitschko's, lol. The bro's competition is ****e, absolute garbage, thats why they have to get guys like shannon briggs, who are 10 years past it to fight them. The division is full of bums, at least with adamek and haye they would be fighting world class fighters albeit natural cruiserweights, lets hope those fights happen

Too bad hopkins was never one to rehydrate a lot of weight.

Hopkins walked around the middleweight frame year round. He was in tremendous shape, dude had a 27" waist for crying out loud.
