You'd think Hopkins would be blacklisting himself as far as media appearances after his career is over go. But he is still insightful and boxing smart and he can be quite funny.
I guess the producers are just weighing up how racist they will allow him to be until they refuse to pick up the phone to call him in.Comment

The article is ****** he hasn't made one derogatory mark about race or anything else. Like he has never tore down a black fighter?? He has on plenty of occasions. Look how the article conveniently shows the answers but not any questions (text book biased journalism), the interviewer might have asked him what he thought Haye's chances are against the klits to which he replied the way he did.
"Just Lucky" is a bit far, don't really know what he means by that, he could mean they are lucky because they arrived in the hw division when it is really poor, which I would agree with. As far as eastern european heavyweights go the Klitschko's are special, but I don't think they have beaten anyone that elevates them to special status as far as all-time heavyweights. At least vitali proved he could compete with the best, wlad has proved very little in terms of the higher echelon of the sport. So far he has a career reminiscent of joe calzaghe's before he fought Lacy, in fact wlad's level is probably poorer and not to mention he has lost twice. He has improved in the last 5 years, and now looks a formidable fighter, but until he proves it against a world class talent I will never be sold on him. He can dominate as many "ok" fighters as he wants but he needs those true tests to cement his legacy.Comment

It's Bernard. He's supposed to stir controversy. You take this way to seriously and personally. It's all about business.
But if you pay attention, or at least READ the (bull****) article, you'll see that Bernard never mentions race.
After all, Bernard works for the white man and his closets friends are from different nationalities.
Still, the guy is a boxing legend, soon to be in the HOF and already an ATG. And he still busts up young champions and take their souls.Last edited by Main Source; 01-26-2011, 12:14 PM.Comment

nardo is a hypocrite with a short term memory...he forgot how lucky he was when he started out at lightheavy, lost, and scaled down to 160, where he was beating up a weak middleweight division with blown up welters like simon brown, tito, oscar, and part-time firemen like bo james...he would still be fighting in obscurity had it not been for a middleweight tournment that wasn't really chock full of great natural middleweights to begin with...Last edited by djtmal; 01-26-2011, 12:52 PM.Comment

"Black genetic superiority?"
Two successful white heavyweight champions are just "lucky" and it's "not fair?"
What, do you need him to come right out and say, "I hate the Klitschkos because they are white."Comment
