you said you aren't excited about this fight so you're not a fake boxing fan. I only said those that think the fight is good are fake.

Another issue with CBS is they have no rights to Manny's old fights, I am sure they can work out a deal with HBO to use some highlights but they certainly won't be able to show the full fights.

        Same with Mosley.

if people admit they aren't excited about this fight and know that its all about someone great whipping on someone that is way past his prime then why pay to watch it? Why do some Manny fans criticize Mayweather fans for ordering horrible Mayweather fights when they are doing the exact same thing? And people wonder why good fights don't happen anymore.

Some are fans of entertainment.. period. I watched the May/Mosley.. and that joke of a fight May/Marquez. I saw Mora/Mosley. I saw Katsidis/Marquez. I watch the super middle tourney. I watched the Briggs/Klitz.. I'm also hyped for the Devon/Tim fight. Some just watch boxing no matter what.. for entertainment value. Pacquiao/Mosley will def. be an entertaining fight. Mosley is the heavy underdog but to count Mosley out would be ridiculous.

Manny can be hit and likes to slug it out.. Shane can hit very HARD and has speed to go along with that. Shane usually destroys come forward fighters.. so does Pac. Pac is the favorite, but, nothing is a given in boxing.

And this is exactly what I meant when I mentioned short-sighted people stuck in 'right now' and blinded by their hate. You really can't see the big picture or think a few steps ahead, can you?

Mayweather has been fighting nobodies and passing it off as something great for years and now Manny is doing the same damn thing. What happens when Manny retires in a year or two because no one else has the star power to have something on a national network? I'm all about making boxing better but this is about trying to sell a horrible fight as something great.
I don't think anyone's saying it's going to "catapult boxing into mainstream television" but it's defiantly a step in the right direction. Combat sports are on the rise, and a lot of young sports fans ( like myself ) enjoy mma AND boxing. MMA has been managed brilliantly and is probably going to end up on a mainstream network sometime in the next 5 years. Boxing needs to take the same steps and get back into the game somehow or it's gonna get left behind. Even though I watch both, there is no doubt in my mind that a good boxing match beats a good mma match all day long. The US market is dominated by young men with disposable income, who all love fights. Its about damn time we saw a move like this. If nothing else they're taking a shot at growing the sport and that's not a bad thing. Even if you hate the match up one thing is for sure, mosley might be old as dirt but he comes to fight and so does manny. Somebody is probably gonna get knocked the **** out or at least beat to a pulp. Even if its a garbage match up main stream fools won't know the difference, all they'll know is somebody just got their ass whooped, no wrestling involved, and they might catch the next fight as a result.

Unless they show it for free on CBS it won't make a bit of difference.

Actually, I jsut saw that they would air the mini-series, so that would be HUGE, but i still stand by airing the fight on CBS would be 1000times bigger. for the sport.
