I like Miguel a lot, and hope this serves him well. I thought he used to have more of a right hand, so this didn't surprise me when it was mentioned a while back.

This is not the first I have heard of this, but it is the first I have heard how serious it was. I hope Cotto has a rebirth of sorts. Cotto would not use it as an excuse, and I do not think anyone should opine that through Steward he is now doing so. Hopefully, though, the surgery has restored much of the use of his right arm and eliminated a lot of the pain. I would love to see a 'rebirth' if Steward's assessment is correct.

I get where you are coming from but, the only one who is making excuses is Steward, and I am not in favor of it.

i didn't know about this. if this is true, and that he's been fighting with one arm then I'm impressed. I fancy him in the Margarito rematch anyway, but this makes me think that he'll definitely win.

Watch his earlier fights, and he was a menace with both arms. Like a mini Tyson when he had his guy pinned to the ropes it was "****, ****, ****!" I don't doubt that he was fighting much of his recent career with that right arm half-working.
