    BUT.........

    - Mayweather beat better versions of both Hatton and ODLH (at 154 as a WW), before MP.
    - He also dominated JMM. MP waited 6 odd years for a rematch....and he still couldn't convince anyone.
    - Cotto at a CW after suffering a bad loss to AM and arguably Clottey.
    - Antonio Margarito after wars with Williams, Cotto and one hell of a skull *** at the hands of Mosley, at a CW after a forced layoff.

    I could go on.....

and the cherry.....Pac's fighting SSM next.

If you look at their last five opponents and where these fighters were at in their career and what the circumstances were, Floyd's wins are more impressive without question.

Yes age is relative and Pacquiao relatively fights younger opponents than Mayweather. Thats a fact.

Floyd beat a bigger Oscar but he also only beat him by a SD. A year late Pacquiao schooled Oscar with a masterclass then stopped him by not only retiring him on his stool but from boxing all together. Pacquiao also stepped up 3 weight in a year for this fight.

Hatton was in the fight with Mayweather up until 6th round. Hatton got frustrated and tired and Mayweather picked him off. Hatton at his preferred weight was destroyed in 2 round by Pacquiao, with devastating speed and power and accuracy.

Marquez pushed Pacquiao hard but he was comfortable at that weight. Mayweather made Marquez jump 3 weights in a year at the age of 36 and Floyd still came over the agreed limit and looked the biggest he has ever been. Marquez has always been poor again counter punchers and defensive fighters.

This is up their with the myth that ODLH lost to FMJ because he stopped throwing the jab and that it was a close fight.

I'm sure those extra 7 pounds hurt a guy with 40 odd fights at 140 who was above 30 years old, against a small WW (Hatton's own words).

I find it hard people can objectively believe a fighter is going to be better after taking his first loss after 40+ ring wars, getting KO'd due to an accumulated beating over 10 rds. He was rocked badly by Lazcano in his return fight and took 11 rds to mow through a guy who can't crack an egg (no disrespect to Paulie who is an intelligent fighter). His punch resistance was gone. Pac beat him impressively....but he was not a better RH than the one who fought FMJ.......

It was a SD, check the judges scorecards.

Floyd Mayweather snr actually thought Oscar won it by two rounds.

Manny put on a masterclass display against Oscar. Let remember Manny was 3/1 underdog for the fight and people were calling this fight a mismatch in Oscar's favour and Manny could get seriously hurt.

Floyd never had the charges over his head last summer, when they were in negotiations.

But Floyd denied any negotiations took place said that he was not thinking about boxing and wanted to take a year or two out and spend time with his family.

Don't think his family was pleased about that.
