Ugh, I can;t believe I'm about to defend this but Floyd isn't fighting Pac. I don;t know his heart but my logic says he is scared to lose.
So, since the biggest fight in boxing can not be made, I would have to say Devon isn't a "bad" choice.
I mean, I'd rather him fight a top fighter in his own weight class. I think Maravilla is a bit unfair. Huge compared to Floyd and Floyd has never been the type to test himself like Pac does.
BUT, there is NO WAY ANY 140 POUNDER SHOULD BE FIGHTING ANYONE IN A NOTHER DIVISION UNTIL THE WINNER OF THIS FIGHT AND KHAN FIGHT.Comment

i got metaphors too broactions speak louder than words.
hatton fought 1x at WW prior to wifebeater jr and afterward he ran back to 140 lbs.
hatton has no business at 147 lbs and he knew it. only reason why hatton said he "felt" stronger at 147 lbs was cause he was selling the fight and had confidence that he could beat wifebeater at 147 lbs. no exuces that he said that and felt that way, but actions speak louder than words.
both times hatton got whupped at 147 lbs prior to the pac fight, hatton went running back down to 140 lbs.
how about a man should stand by his actions ??
*****es make excuses afterwards... and who knows themselves better than the man himself.
If you say you feel strong at 147... im gonna beleive you bro coz i take you as a man
if you then start *****ing about it afterwards then i know the kind of man you really are.... (im sure you would never do this)
if Hatton had no business at 147 but yet claimed it was exactly what he wanted then all excuses go out the window...Comment

Sometimes I think fighters make excuses to convince themselves they wouldn't have lost otherwise. Holyfield used to never make excuses but after he started losing, there was always an excuse. Unfortunately, almost every boxer makes excuses when they lose. I think it's a mental thing that they need to use to get themselves back in that ring with confidence. That's just the nature of the beast...
Regarding the thread topic, I think King and Alexander better worry about Bradley before looking to another opponent, especially one as accomplished as Mayweather. Alexander is going to have his hands full against Bradley and personally, if I have to pick a winner, I would go with Bradley. Either way, should be an awesome fight...Comment

Preparing to fight Pacquiao at 147 pounds - a weight class he has not competed at since defeating Arturo Gatti in 2001 – De La Hoya has had to watch his waistline. It’s the only way the former middleweight can ensure that his dream fight with Pacquiao (47-3-2, 35 KOs) goes off without a hitch.i got metaphors too bro

“The weight is no problem,” a confident De La Hoya said on Monday’s conference call with reporters. “I feel strong. I do have to admit that in the first couple of days that I did make the weight or I tried making weight, I did feel a little lightheaded and weak. But now that I have gotten used to it and now that weeks have passed by, I feel strong and fast and very comfortable with welterweight . And I'm even thinking of going back down to 140 after this fight, so we'll see"
Something tells me you're going to do an about-face with what you said in the bold

I agree, there are some who can accept flaws like Manfedo and except Bradley and Alexander to be that way if they lose, but a fighter has to let himself feel to an extent that he can recover from any lose or else why would he keep fighting?Sometimes I think fighters make excuses to convince themselves they wouldn't have lost otherwise. It's not outright arrogance but it does get to that point a lot. And for fighters sake, I do believe it's better to say "I have flaws but I can fix them" whether they can or not then to think they are just fine the way they are and make extreme excuses.Comment

altho i do think there is a difference between cutting weight and putting on weight...Preparing to fight Pacquiao at 147 pounds - a weight class he has not competed at since defeating Arturo Gatti in 2001 – De La Hoya has had to watch his waistline. but you are right - wats good for the goose is good for the gander... people talk too much over the DLH weight issue... if he had a problem with it then he needs to say so before... he was the cash cow at the time
also even IF he was a bit drained... its balanced by the fact that Manny was fighting at weight he'd never competed at... so he deserves credit coz a decent left hook by DLH wud have been lights out.... Manny deserves credit for his win just like Floyd does
but i do highlight again that gaining a few pounds is different from cutting to a weight you've never made for years... but then i look at Glenn Johnson at 168.... dude aint making no excusesComment

also the writing was probably on the wall with all that "lightheaded" talk.... but to his credit DLH didnt blame weight after he lost... he gave it up to manny just like he shouldPreparing to fight Pacquiao at 147 pounds - a weight class he has not competed at since defeating Arturo Gatti in 2001 – De La Hoya has had to watch his waistline. Manny and Floyd are phenoms.... id rather fans just admit that than make excuses for their successComment

Maybe because King promotes Alexander not Bradley?
And why is King not chasing the Pacquiao fight?[/QUOTE]
I'm assuming you mean why he doesn't chase Pac for Alexander right? Since he's Alexander promoter.
Maybe he thinks Alexander can get more money fighting Floyd than he can get fighting Pac. Plus he has said that he will chase Pac for Mayorga if Mayorga beats Cotto.
So basically what King wants is Alexander-Floyd and Mayorga-Pac.Comment

To be fair Floyd Jr hasn't said a damn thing. Floyd Sr and I think Roger spoke on Spaddy. But, Jr makes the final decisions.
I agree, but Alexander has spoke that he has no interest in Khan. And, it seems King will try to chase Floyd. Him being successful in getting Floyd remains to be seen.
Who is Floyd chasing? The man is still long ass vacation. It seems like you're confused on who is doing the chasing here. King is Alexander promoter not Floyd. King doesn't speak for Floyd. He speaks for Alexander.Comment
