If the CBS aspect pays off and they sell lots of PPV's, great. But what if it doesn't work out that way.

Who offers more money to air the fight a week later on their network, Sho or HBO? It's gotta be HBO, so that's less money for Pac and Arum is ****ing with Manny's business over personal vendetta.

I'm a Layman in this, I'm just doing guess work and could be all wrong.
The rebroadcast rights are usually about a milly. Not a huge (relative) amount.

Also, while manny has HUGE viewership in the PI (20-25 million ppl), the foreign license fe is pretty small. Only 1-2 million dollars.

By contrast, hatton made a lot of money on foreign rights.

But HBO would gladly take this fight.

...and that is coming from someone who wouldn't piss on Pac if he was on fire.

      Truth is truth.
HBO would kill employees to guarantee pac and mayweather fight on hbo for life

These two generate like 60m+ per ppv fight, they will be steaming they lost pac

What I still cannot understand for the life of me is them turning down a cotto fight for 1.5m dollars, bare in mind they pay garbage like berto 1m or even higher per fight!!

Btw if mayweather is smart, he will do a similar move, showtime would do anything to get mayweather on their network as well, maybe even give him a hefty sign on bonus or a share of their own revenue?

could you imagine, two of the biggest fighters ever ditching hbo

if anything floyd has a great reason with them ****ting on him

I don't think Floyd is necessarily a "loyal" dude. But to the extent that he recognizes who helped him get to where he is, floyd gives HBO their due.

Floyd was making $3-4 million per fight against guys like Chop-Chop and Bruseles. Think about that. compare that ish to what guys are making today.

Also, the 24/7 concept (Floyd got partial credit and won an EMMY) is basically what made Floyd a "star".

At the end of the day, HBO has 3x the viewership of SHO, and can run more promotional spots for the fights and many more people will see an HBO fight On demand and on the rebroadcast. That's important also.
