Yeah, so those guys are smaller. That doesn't mean they are not better. What the hell is the intrigue of seeing Lopez in a fight with a guy with over a dozen losses and is coming off one? Salido is no Glen Johnson. I can't defend this fight dude. Sorry.
Those fights would have been weird.

Johnny was mentioned as a possible opponent at one point and it got thrashed on the boards.

Couldn't support the Haseqawa fight because he just fought at 118 two fights ago.

He would be ridiculously small compared to Lopez.

Gonzalez and Hasegawa are fighting each other.

Hasegawa would be okay... he earned his featherweight status by beating a good undefeated fighter in Juan Carlos Burgos.

Gonzalez would be okay too, although he's just not durable.

Pounce fight whould have been interesting.

        But that was his choice.

He could have exercised his madatory and fought to get the rematch.

For some reason he wanter Brohner.

          I can't believe that's the whole story...

He's been aching for a rematch with Lopez.

He looked really small in that fight. But I get your point.

Johnny fight would have short and sweet.

              It's part the story.

The other part is that Ponce De Leon is with GBP if I'm not mistaken. He has fought in a couple of GBP shows against GBP fight one being Escalante, also against Lock(Lock is actually a Mayweather promotion fighter but it was on a Golden Boy PPV that Mayweather participated in), and not against Broner who's a GBP. So I think it's safe to say that PDL is a GBP fighter and the reason he didn't pursuit the mandatory could be cuz of the whole GBP-TR silly immature feud.

But, both are fighting each other. Maybe the winner would be in a position to get the fight. Even though I think Elio Rojas will have to get the first crack at the winner. The whole WBC rules. So then again maybe not.

Again this is a stay busy fight in Puerto Rico. Salido on these circumstances is not a fight fight at all. Is it the best fight that could be made? No. But, is not a bad fight.

Again this will be Lopez 4th fight at 126, and it will be 4 fights that he faces a top 10 126lber. Name me another fight right now that has face 4 top 10 fighters in their weight-class in a row?

If you look at it in that way is not that bad of a fight for a stay busy homecoming fight.

Or better yet, how about a top guy from 122 like Poonsowat? Even if it had to be at a catch weight. This fight sucks and you keep defending this punk.

                      I wanted the Rojas fight.

This is a OK stay busy fight.

Lopez can work on his new defensive techniques and what not.

If your going to b$tch, have a guy you rather see him fight.
Rojas people want a tune up first, Kennedy is fighting Jorge Diaz, Ponce chose not to fight Juanma and went with Broner, Litzau is fighting some dude at 130, Cordoba(Who beat Caballero and made Rigodeaux look like ass) went MIA, So this is actually a decent fight, for a stay busy fight cuz Salido is still consider a top 10 FW and this will be Juanma's 4 top ten FW in as many fights(Luevano #2, Concepcion #6. Marquez #8 and Salido #4). None of the other top guys in the sport has done that, not even close.
