Your logic is a bit flawed there buddy.

        • If Manny wants to be called a champ at 154 then he succeeded. Its like how Roy Jones went up and fought John Ruiz. It was a joke when he did it and its a joke now for Manny. They only went up and fought guys they know fit their style but it was more dangerous for Jones because at least he fought someone who was a legitimate champ and not some cheating bum like Margarito. They both abandoned their belts though and never defended it like champions are suppose to do.

How Roy got his hw title is a lot more legit then how Manny got jrmw title.

            • i agree that Roy's belt was more legitimate but i was using that only as an example. Roy won against Ruiz and Ruiz was the real champ because won against Evander. Manny on the other hand never really fought a champ at 154 because the belt was vacant and what was even more pathetic was that is was against Margarito.

              • The Pacquaio-Martinez debate really doesn't compare to when Mayweather won a 154 trinket from DLH in his lone fight in the division. What's happening with Pac and Maravilla would have been comparable if Jermain Taylor, who was the middleweight champ when Money beat DLH, had been willing to come down to 154 and fight Money. If he had been willing, and Mayweather wasn't, Mayweather would have and should have been criticized. But to my knowledge, JT never even mentioned Mayweather. Martinez is willing to fight Pac in a division where he's competed, succeeded, and is promoted as a champion. Therefore, there's no logical reason why the fight shouldn't be entertained. Its not like Martinez is asking Pac to come challenge him for the middleweight strap.

Lennox Lewis was THE heavyweight champion when RJ did his one-n-done in the division. The only thing that made RJ's win over Ruiz noteworthy is that RJ won a heavyweight trinket as a former middleweight. There was nothing legitimate about the belt he won. The only thing legitimate was that at the time, Ruiz was a top 5 heavyweight and most felt RJ could have easily been competing as a super middleweight. That and it was no way RJ could challenge the 6'5, 245 LL.

Ruiz was a title holder and Jones went up to his weight and didnt force him to meet at a weight that he would be strongest at. For those two reasons Jones hw title was more legit then Manny's. Im not saying that Roy was the undisputed HW champion either so dont misunderstand me.
