Despite his wins and the respect he has earned, Martinez is treated like crap by these organizations because he still isn't a big 'star'

This is actually a blessing in disguise. This pretty much makes Martinez a "free agent" & relieves him of the restrictions that would be put on him with mandatory defenses & the like. I think this is actually better for Martinez. I don't think the title is the only reason to fight him. You have to fight him because he established himself as the best fighter in the division. Also, he'll be the fighter that would earn you the biggest payday in the division. A fighter could hide behind that paper trinket if they wanted, but eventually they will have to fight Sergio if they want the bigger bucks &/or the recognition of being the best in the division.

Meanwhile, Sergio can pretty much fight who he wants....as long as someone is willing to accept that challenge. That has been Martinez's biggest problem since the first fight with P-Dub.....finding someone who's willing to fight him. The title was never a factor in that regard. Title or no title, no one really wants to fight him. But at least without the title he has more freedom to find someone who actually WILL fight him.

The lure of fighting the best fighter in the division should do the trick. I know Martinez is not gonna make the kind of money Mayweather or Pacquiao make, but he still isn't gonna make much even with the belt, how much could he make by fighting Zbik??, if anything not having the belt rids him of havin to pay that ****in bloodsuckin b*tch a$$ piece of s*it Sulaiman and his team of vampires...

Fighters are beginnin to understand what these so called "non-profit" organizations are about, Alexander refusing to take the WBC belt comes to mind as an example. And the sooner they realize that they dnt need to have these belts to b consider great, as long as they fight the best, the sooner we'll get rid of **** face Sulaiman, the WBC AND THE OTHERS ALIKE (WBO, WBA, IBF, all of those mutha****ers)

I find it hilarious that after slobbering Sulaiman's knob for three paragraphs Zbik ends his soliloquy with " ....but of course we prefer the Ring Belt." Haha! That will surely earn him a letter from Sulaiman slapping his wrist, and/or getting him stripped if he beats Chavez. I wish rags and websites would stop endorsing sanctioning bodies, just ignore their press releases completely. Corrupt mother' Fr's.

Never heard of the guy or watched any of his fights. I think Pirog should go **** this guy for his belts to get some more name recognition.

Rubbish, he's already made a name for himself in the last 1-2 years, being named fighter of the year and winning knock out of the year, makes Martinez a major name in the World boxing. If that doesn't get him the biggest fights available at middleweight, then nothing will!

No he's not, Martinez would not have had any problems with this guy.
