I don't see what is so wrong with Saul Alvarez looking at Mosley or Cotto in the future. Even though you can argue that both are on the decline, they are still very good fighters and no easy out for anyone not named Pacquiao or Mayweather. I think the most impressed I was with Cotto was in his fight with Clottey. That fight he had to dig deep to hang in there and whether or not you thought Clottey won or not (I had Cotto ahead slightly but it was close), he showed he can hang when the going gets tough. I believe Cotto has more left than Mosley at this stage however I don't see any reason why Alvarez shouldn't try and fight these guys. He's beyond prospect and entering the top 10 contender stage, these could be good fights to gauge where he really is...

just see khan after the maidana fight. first they drop wifebeater's name. then they drop alexander's and bradley's names. then they drop to lamont peterson, and finally we end up with this irish kid.
Thats exactly what I was about to say, they are just throwing names in the air to get peoples attention. They know the kid aint ready for Cotto and that, that fight wont get made do to Cotto having biggger fishes to fry and being with TR.

Arum is just squeezing every penny left out of the two veterans while Alvarez is perceived as the mop up guy.
If Saul had any solid potential he would have been put in much deeper by now.
My bet is that he's a novelty act and not as good as Chavez, Jr. or even John Duddy.
