Why do some mexicans hate De La Hoya?

Do some Mexican's feel like DLH became to Americanized and is a sell out? I remember before he fought Chavez it seemed like all the Mexicans rooted for Chavez. I've heard people like Vargas call DLH a fake Mexican. I believe Oscar fought Vargas after he was KO by Trinidad, hmmm...that sounds just like what another current boxer is doing Anyway, do some in the Mexican community feel like DLH doesn't embrace Mexican culture, if so is that the reason for the contempt?

The reason why they dnt like DLH is because he used Chavez kinda like a stepping stone or some and he was an American-Mexican boxer

Delahoya is a sellout, He went to Crackhead Sr who ruined his style with the shoulder roll Oscar never threw body punches after that, which cost him when he fought Crack head Jr, He basically quit after the 8 round agnist Jr in which he had won 5 of 8 rounds than loses the last 3 of 4 rounds. Should have been a draw but fans always remember the last 4 rounds not the first 8. Than made a fool of himself with the stockings and dropping to fight Pacquiao at 147 after getting a beating. Oscar reminded me of a Black Olympian fighter fight bums till you get a title shot than look for the eaisest champ of every divison. Ray leonard and Mayweather took this pattern also.

They don't like dlh because he was the bad boy from east l.a. First and he wasn't claiming a hood in Mexico. Then he went and enjoyed beatin th crap out of Chavez who all mexicans swear is the best fighter who ever lived. After that he *****ed up against tito Trinidad. That pretty much sums it up. To tell the truth I'm puerto rican but I give dlh more credit than most mexicans because I think dlh was a great fighter who fought all the best comp and I feel he was the smartest Mexican fighter because he made himself into a business man. Overall Latinos in general should applaud the things dlh was able to do

i feel that he got alot of hate from the Chavez fights. But in his defense he had the chance to redeem himself and gain all the Mexican fans back with the Trinidad fight. I know he had mexicans rooting for him in the Trinidad fight, that is until he started running around the ring avoiding Trinidad. When that happened forget it never again i feel alot of Mexicans got turned off by De La Hoya by doing that instead of going and finishing off Trinidad when he had the chance.

Because DLH is not Mexican enough. Vargas is more Mexican than Oscar because he is a gangster, and Margacheater is more Mexican because he left his native Torrence, California to live in Mexico and therefore don't know english. Oscar is a nice guy with good looks, had a better fefense than most Mexican fighters, and was a media darling and Mexicans don't approve of that! Just an observation...

DLH is hated by haters because of his good looks.
