I have no sympathy at all for any of those involved. Boxing is dying because of lust for money. The fighters and promoters over time got overcome with greed. They chased after cable and contracts and slowly watched the sport disappear from the public eye.
You see an entire generation of fighters now with no home base. It is Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Once in a while we see a localized promotion like this one, but the interest in the sport withered away and there are very few left who care.

This is my first post:
I dont know how you got blindly following marley from that post. You compared his credibility to a regular bscene poster. i begged to differ. that's what we are arguing about here.
now go read post 58 & the posts i quoted. You get your answer.
good nite & good luck.

I got blindly following Marley because you are not really paying attention to him as a journalist, you are just saying he should be credible. This is my first post:

The thing is he isn't and you have done nothing to prove otherwise. Which is exactly how I find most posters here~Last edited by The Gambler1981; 01-14-2011, 12:29 AM.Comment

Good bump. Michael Marley needs to be exposed as often as it takes in order for boxingscene to stop posting his crap.
There was a time, not long ago, when any time someone posted a michael marley "article" the person posting the thread would get laughed at. Like "oh you're posting this douchebag's article to prove a point!?" Everyone knew he was a joke. His website is a joke. It's like the TMZ of boxing. Pure trash based on rumors and hearsay! He's been known to make up quotes. I bet half of his bob arum interviews are fake, who knows with this guy!Comment

Amen. There are two reasons why boxing is dying in the US: 1) PPV 2) Influx of non-US fighters. The reason why boxing was so popular in the US back in the day was because it was on prime time free tv, then they moved to the PPV model and it has been dying ever since. It's a fringe sport in the US now. Why do you all think it's so hugely popular in Europe still? Because it's shown for free, prime time, most fights anyway. Now add the fact that the flagship division of boxing is controlled by Eastern Europeans, and you have complete lack of interest from Americans.I have no sympathy at all for any of those involved. Boxing is dying because of lust for money. The fighters and promoters over time got overcome with greed. They chased after cable and contracts and slowly watched the sport disappear from the public eye.
