not sure what the canadian fellah is thinkin but, as an englishman with excellent knolledge of our "war years" during 39/45 i can tell anyone here that it was us who fought off the might of the ****s from our tiny little island,sunk their best ships turpitz/bismark etc.
and, even with the massive **** bombings we recieved during the blitz we still took to the air with a meagre offering of spitfires/lancasters etc and battered the whole lot of them into defeat. field marshall rommel was outfoxed by the great "monty" in the sands and when momentum began to shift in our favour, those stinkin yanks stuck their oar in.
"but never.....never...." lol was there any single country across europe(countries alot bigger than us) that even offered any attemt of a fightback worth talking about.
we were the liberators of europe and potentially "zer vorld" we gave france back to the french... etc... and, look at the thanks we get.
it was a piece of piss.
and those stinkin yanks lost 3/4 of their fleet in a raid before even moving or firing a shot.(shame to those who were lost though) this was the result of very poor intel and as history suggests, communication error.
