As a big Pac fan i call bull***** on this.

He talks about entertaining the fans, but ignoring the fact that its the hardcore fight fans that are the biggest critics of the fight!

U cant fool fight fans who know that Pac has beaten up bigger men with poor defences for the past 3 years.

JMM has put in action packed performances, and has a style that really gives Pac trouble. Pac vs JMM could sell due to the controversy of the scorecards in their last 2 fights.

As for the fight fans I kno. It's not about PAC Mayweather. Again myself personally would love to watch PAC fight the best out there. It Would be nice to see him fight at something other than a cathweight to gain an advantage. For instance beating DelaHoya when in actuality PAC out weighed him by 1.5lbs when they entered the ring is a complete joke. But since there are so many Floyd haters let me state the truth. If that fight ever does happen I doubt we will here from any of you on this forum unless it's to make excuses as to why PAC was destroyed. PAC has zero chance against Mayweather. You will all be wishing u never demanded this fight. PAC can't hang with superior counterpunchers at 130lbs. Let's see what happens when the best counter puncher in boxing gets ahold of him. It will be a slow fight. PAC will stop punching after 3 rounds and the PAC faithfull will claim he's old small or a conspiracy that he is depleated from the blood test that every Olympian goes thru. World records are broken with this type of testing but PAC a world class fighter is weakened for three days?? I predict a stoppage or Manny gets clipped and slept.

What's wrong with Mosley is that he is exactly the type of over the hill, limited brawler on a losing streak people have accused Pacquiao of cherry picking.

the catch 22 then becomes that by being the so called "greatest" you are stuck.... if you fight simple fights that make you look good then the average fan falls in love with you and you continue to make more money.... however you lose the respect of the fans who brought you there...

if you take hard challenges then you may struggle (even if you win) and then the luster goes off your mythical status... talk of being exposed and overrated happens coz noone is meant to be able to even touch you let alone hurt you... and so you may gain the respect of the pure fight fan but lose the $$$ which come with average fan adulation

but when you ride the mythical chariot (to make you money) then you always incur the wrath of the seasoned fan who knows that this image is just smoke and mirrors...

Pacquaio is a phenominal fighter - FACT

But his fight choices after Cotto are part of this "appeal to the average fan" wagon.... and the catchweights are a way to maintain the mythical status...

Hardcore fans know the truth but casual fans bring the dough... it's a shame it has to be this way

I always find that fighters are better getting to the top than once they finally arrive

Ain't that the f**king truth brodah! Well said!

Out of the 3 options, Mosley is the best known outside of the ring due to his apperances on TV for other shows. He is the most marketable and will generate the most income for a Manny fight. JMM does not belong at 147 so please don't pretend that he had a chance and Berto... Berto who?? Maybe in the future he fills up the arena but he doesn't today and he is hardly well known outside the ring.
Maybe this is an easy fight Pac has chosen after the hard fought fight with Margarito - so let it be. Initially I wasn't sold either but maybe Pac takes Mosley a little too lightly and we miss a great upset - it can happen! (remember Rahman/Lewis 1?) Pac is already not following Roach's request to train full time in the US for this fight so ... who knows! I hope they stack the undercard with some worthy fights but maybe that will be the real 'upset' if it happened.
I don't think anyone hates Manny but rather the fact that
their trying to fool the boxing fans while padding up his
record & legacy. Trying to pass off mismatches as competitive
fights after they all said none were competitive. Koncz
basically said Mosley wasn't **** prior but now he is mad
that none of us fans are buying into this fight? Team Pac,
Arum and Top Rank in general have been crapping all over
us and gettting away with it. As soon as sensible people
call them out, they have to be the haters? It's not about
hate, it's about what's real and right now what Arum is
doing ain't real and whoever thinks so is a real nut hugging
fan and not a boxing one. Arum, Roach, Manny and team
have been contradicting themselves left and right, looking
guilty as hell and there are still people cosigning these
clowns. Pac almost got away with it, if he didn't pick
Mosley after being thumped by Floyd and look horrible
against Mora. Pac had people eating out of the palm
of his hand but the Mosley choice went a lil too far
and now there is an out cry. The only people that
believe Arum and Pac are for the fans are the idiotic
                ones.

Arum said. "To me, that is the real tipoff for an aging fighter. Even Big George Foreman did that in his 40s but he always had that big, big punch like in the (Michael) Moorer fight.

"What I've read is not very supportive to make any Mosley-Pacquiao bout. Look, he's going to be 40 and he's in the lighter weights where speed is so important. He's on a show with guys -- example, 20-year-old Saul Canelo Alvarez -- old enough to be his son.

"I guess Shane needs the money due to his matrimonial sitaution (a divorce under harsh California community property rules),"Arum said. "I've always considered Shane to be a nice guy but this is what happens to fighters when they age.

"It's like (Bernard) Hopkins, he still knows how to fight but who wants to pay to see him now? His fights are not very scintillating. What you see with Hopkins we're beginning to see with Mosley."

Arum said he wouldn't be interested in playing the flakcatcher if he made a Shane-Manny bout at this point.

I think people is missing the fact that mosley and pacman are both brawlers that likes to exchange and throw punches which is gonna make this an entertaining fight. Can pacman knock mosley out with 1 punch? NO. Can mosley knock manny out with 1 punch? Theres a possibility that could happen. So why would this be an easy fight for manny? I think this is going to be one of manny's hardest match up. Shane might not be in his prime but he is and was consider as one of the best in his era and with all the experience behind him this wont be an easy fight for manny. Not to mention mosley will be the bigger and stronger guy here. Manny is already rank as p4p the best right now so at this point, all manny is trying to do is give entertaining fight for the fans even if shane is not rank as a top contender right now its still gonna be a good fight because of their style. Manny doesnt need to fight anyone to bring up his status, its already set in stone. This fight might not look good on paper but both of their style will match up really well, and this is what the fans want when they pay or go see a fight.

Does Manny need one punch to KO Mosley? NO. Will Manny ovewhelm Mosley once Mosley gasses out on the 6th round thus ending in a TKO one sided beating? Most likely YES.

I don't see why you say Mosley has a possibility of knocking out Pacquiao with one punch... Care to explain how you came to that conclusion? I've yet to see Pacquiao being hurt with one punch at this stage of his career. Manny is not trying to entertain dude, he's beyond that now. He knows this is a lucrative fight with little risk based on his opponent's past two fights. He's all about money now. Not saying it's a bad thing but it is what it is.
