Eddie Chambers, with his Turtle Shell defense seemed like a guy who could never get Ko'd and would only lose on points.

Samuel Peter - Besides the other Klitschko brother, seemed like a David Tua-esque Iron Chinned fighter.

Both Stopped. The Klitschko's own their opponents in every way possible. First they school them for a period of rounds in boxing and then they stop them, the best of both worlds if you really look at it.

eddie and samuel peter are both bums

i'd like to know outside of the 70s and 90s, when all of these awesome golden heavyweight eras were with loads of top 10 guys that werent considered "poor opposition". joe louis is considered the 2nd best heavyweight of all time but you never hear anyone talk about the bum of the month club and how he dominated in a weak era. why the hate for klitschkos?

They are proven Ring ranked fighters. Unlike Audley ****ing Harrison.

I lived through that so called golden era, 70's and 80's, and it wasn't golden at all from 76/77 on. Ali lost his title to little Leon Spinks lest we forget, and then we had Holmes boring era and then it got even worse until Tyson KO'd all the bums of that generation. Then he himself was found out by Buster Douglas of all people.

What do you have to say about pub fighter Ross Puritty finding out Wladimar Klitschko? A man who has 20 losses on his record, far worse than Buster Douglas.

You show yourself up there, kid. Purrity was no pub fighter, he was only stopped 3 times in 54 fights and mixed in high company. Tyson was a lot more seasoned when he lost to Douglas, altho I am not comparing Purrity to Douglas at all - you are. I guess because you are a kid with no clue about anything. You might have a clue in twenty years, just now you should be in the kid's section.

He may have been stopped only 3 times but it doesn't hide the fact he lost 20 times. He had no credible wins until he beat Klitschko.

Nobody mentions Ross Purrity, because he's nobody. Buster Douglas was levels above him.

You might have a clue when you realize Klitschko is a one trick pony.

Ah, the good old fight from more than 12 years ago, when Wlad had less than 2 years as a pro and would've whipped Puritty bad if it had been a 10 round or less fight (Most of Wlad's fights were 3 rounds or less and he'd never been past 8.) Sorry, don't see how it's relevant. At all.

Several of those losses came when Puritty was OLD, near the end of his career, others were close decision losses to good fighters.

He used the turtle-shell defense and was difficult to KO, going the distance with several top heavyweights like Rahman, Byrd, Grant, Donald and Sanders. He put an end to KO streaks by several fighters like Grant and Rahman. He had a draw with Tommy Morrison.

Puritty is close to the same height as Wlad. He outweighed the then-slender Wlad by 25 pounds in 1998, and it was all muscle.

Wlad had never been past 6 rounds before, he was moving around too much during the fight, showing off for his hometown fans in Kiev, and was determined to KO Purrity.

You can always tell if someone is a real Klitschko hater if they bring up the Puritty fight. Because of everything that happened in Wlad's career since, that fight has very little meaning now, and really isn't worth talking about.
