Puritty is close to the same height as Wlad. He outweighed the then-slender Wlad by 25 pounds in 1998, and it was all muscle.

Wlad had never been past 6 rounds before, he was moving around too much during the fight, showing off for his hometown fans in Kiev, and was determined to KO Purrity.

You can always tell if someone is a real Klitschko hater if they bring up the Puritty fight. Because of everything that happened in Wlad's career since, that fight has very little meaning now, and really isn't worth talking about.

No it isn't, but moron haters bring it up without checking the facts. Purrity was a very strong heavyweight who mainly fought names, NONE of whom except Vitaly K stopped him. The guy battered Tommy Morrison in 94 among others. The fight itself with 22 y/o Wlad was stopped by Wlad's trainer, not the ref.

A 22 year old heavyweight is no where near the complete package physically (ok Tyson may well be the exception to that rule but still) Wlad was a long, long way from his best and thats become incredibly obvious since. So TBH anyone that uses the Puritty loss against him is showing the lack of recent trouble as a positive for Wlad imo.

Don't view fans using it against him as bad, it's proof that theirs not a lot they can use to downplay him.
