I love marquez and everything he is about, but at 140 now khan will light his ass up and think will probably be the first person to stop him. Nacho will have to throw the towel in and save marquez from further punishment, the speed height and reach advantage is a bad combination for marquez. Both guys have incentive to take the fight though. They both bring enough to the table for the other guy. If marquez is looking for one last big pay day...he'l make more money with khan than anyone else between 135-140, and also has the chance to become a 4 weight world champion. Khan especially if he did a number on marquez, it would be a signature win even though marquez is 37, he is a legend. Not to mention it will be a great learning fight, marquez will show him angles and shots that he has never seen so far in his career.

      christ.

everyone talks crap about the meaningless ABC orgs but when it suits their purpose they talk about ABC orgs mandatories as if it's something meaningful.

i'll explain it one last time. perform a search function on nsb if you don't believe me. there was a few boxingscene articles on it.

gbp wanted khan-marquez. khan-marquez is a ton more money than khan-maidana or marquez-katsidis.

      marquez turned it down.

when marquez turned down the fights , that's when they made the mandatory fights with maidana and katsidis.

Thats exacly how it went down, He had to fight his mandatory number 1 contender or be stripped. It will happen because after his tune up with Morales he will face Khan or Maidana. Like it proves in my video Khan has been waiting for Marquez to age so he can take advantage. But JMM is like a Hopkins, he will school Khan all night!! Khan is a sucker for them upper cuts!!! JMM is an expert at uppercuts and combinations!!!

What I did find about what you are saying , was that his trainer (Beristain)not Marquez did not approve of the fight because he felt JM Marquez had just come off a grueling beat down from Mayweather and was not ready to fight Khan. I believe that is why they did not fight in April of 10, His corner felt he needed more time to recuporate from that beating!! I'ts not That Marquez himself been ducking him, The only proof of either fighter ducking each other comes out of Khan's on mouth in the video I posted!!

              this........

After Amir beat Salita. GBP wanted to match Khan with JMM. JMM declined. After Amir beat Malignaggi. GBP tried to make the fight happen once again but JMM declined once again. JMM actually admitted this.

Idiot!! I never said thats why he ducked Khan, JMM never maid the decision not to fight Khan, GBP themselves along with JMM's trainer realized JMM needed more time to recuporate from the Mayweather beatdown!! They thought April or May 10 was too soon!! Your dumb ass is the one that said JMM has been ducking Khan And i replied that i'ts proven that Khan was the one who initially ducked Marquez after the Barrera fight. Khan was JMM number one contender but he chose not to fight JMM instead and move up to 140. look at the video, is it so hard to understand what Khan is saying???

                      By Rick Reeno

Earlier this year, Golden Boy Promotions was trying to match Juan Manuel Marquez in a fight with WBA 140-pound champion Amir Khan. Golden Boy wanted Marquez as the opponent for Khan's American/HBO debut in May. After some initial discussions, Marquez turned the fight down. He was later replaced by former champion Paul Malignaggi, who Khan stopped in eleven rounds.

Dozens of stories were circulating regarding the reasons behind Marquez's refusal to take the fight. He spoke with BoxingScene.com to clear the air on what actually happened.

"The truth is, I had a small surgery on my back and I had just finished a very tough fight with [Floyd] Mayweather. I had to take some time off because I had the surgery. That's the real reason. That's the real thing," Marquez told BoxingScene.com. "That's the truth. Everybody can say this or that, but that's the truth. It was because of the surgery on my back."

Around the time of the negotiations, Marquez's trainer/manager Nacho Beristain was very vocal in the Mexican media about the way his fighter was being treated during negotiations. Nacho felt that his fighter was being disrespected and deserved to be the A-side of the fight. Nacho would point out how his boxer was coming off a pay-per-view with Mayweather that sold over 1 million units. He also made several remarks about Golden Boy trying to use his fighter as a "stepping stone" for Khan to get over in the United States.

"I respect whatever Nacho said, but I didn't say anything. I respect whatever Nacho said because he's my trainer. But the truth, I'm telling you, was my back, because of the surgery [I didn't fight]," Marquez said.

Marquez defends his WBA/WBO titles on Saturday against Michael Katsidis at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
