  • Sick of people disrespecting Mosley

It's sickening the amount of disrespect displayed in NSB. Mosley is deserving of the Pac fight just as much as BHop deserved the Tarver fight after losing twice to Jermain Taylor (F'n Jermain Taylor). Win, lose or draw, Mosley has done enough in his career to deserves this fight.

I've been critical of Mosley since the Mayorga fight and predicted his defeat to FMJ. But as the old addage goes "Styles makes fights". This could turn out to be an exciting match in which he KO's Pac. The more likely out come is a fight like the Pac Cotto: exciting 4 rounds, then Pac dominates. Mosley will probably lose, but he can hurt Pac, just like he hurt FMJ, maybe worse.

And for those with short term memory loss.. Earlier this year beating Mosley was good enough to elevate FMJ as Yahoo!'s #1 p4p after the fight. So why isn't he good enough to fight Pac? Besides Mosley who is, Marquez? Marquez @ WW was good enough for FMJ to garner a couple of boxing writer's #1 votes in Yahoo!'s p4p, but the consensus is he's a mismatch for Pac @ WW. If a Kastidis left hook put JMM on his back, imagine what a Mosley left hook would do (Bring out the stretcher). Berto? Whose best competition was a disputed decision over southpaw Luis Collazo. The same Collazo Mosley dominated for 12 rds.

Mosley is the clear welterweight choice. Show the man some respect.

Are you really trying to make that comparison?

And, it wasn't earlier this year. And, a lot has changed since then. When Floyd beat him, Mosley was arguably the #1 WW, lineal champ coming off an impressive win. Now, Mosley is coming from a Floyd beat down and in a fight where he looked like crap against Mora.

    Garbage ass fight.

The clear WW choice should have been Berto.

MOsley dont deserve ****. He's the dumbest elite fighter ive ever seen in boxing with the lowest Boxing IQ. Besides his warrior mentality, i have nothing good to say about him as a fighter.

Mosley is just a dumb dumb fighter with limited skills and he dont deserve to fight pacman. I hope pacman cripples him.

Ill stop disrespecting Mosley when he wins a fight, which he hasn't done in two years.

And Pacman is not a fighter he has a chance of beating.

I don't blame Mosley for anything, but I sure do blame Pacman for cherrypicking.

It's not disrespect when it's common knowledge that Mosley didn't deserve this fight. If he deserves the fight based on his name, then this sport is losing its credibility. Your comparisons suck and your entire post sucks.

jrosales13, as one of a handful of true boxing fans in NSB I respect you opinion. However, I respectfully disagree and maintain the analogous:

Before HBhop fought JT, he was the Linear MW, successfully defending the MW title for a record 20 times. His 21st defense was a close loss to JT. The second was not as close, but a clear loss . In both, BHop was too inactive to cope with JT's athleticism. The HBO crew went as far as to state BHop got old overnight.

After the two losses the 41 year old Bhop challenged Tarver for his belts 11 months after the first JT loss. At fight night Tarver was a two and a half to one favorite. Hopkins showed more speed, power and was more active come fight night and the rest is history.

In May 2010 Mosley, as you stated, was arguably the linear WW after his highlight KOs of Mayorga and Margarito. In the last 2 bouts he was able to hurt FMJ twice but lost the bout decisively, and a controversial draw againts Mora. Both were a stylistic nightmare for Mosley. One was a master counter-puncher the other was a counter-puncher on a bike.

A draw and a loss later, Mosley will be 40 challenging Pac for his WW belt 12 months after the FMJ loss. Come fight night the odds will be similar to BHop v Tarver fight night odds. It is within the realm of possibility that Mosley comes out with a win coming in more active, with more speed and power. It's highly unlikely, but this is boxing. In its storied history anything can happen at any given night.

The BHop's and Mosley's styles are night and day. But their age, trainer and situation are similar before they faced a seemingly superior opponent.

I stand corrected, FMJ v SSM was not earlier in the year (it's only Jan. 6th after all). It was 8 months ago.

Nah I never heard Freddie say he wanted a fight with Mosley. Bill Dwyer took note of that as well. I don't think Pac will look good (if) he wins. He picks Pac's opponents so 'he' can look good.
