Mosley was p4p #3 at the time, it was a legit win - the Mora fight was at 140 and Mosley has always been horrible against boxers with footwork. How many of the same threads needs to be made?

The new fans will not understand that most of Mayweather's opponents weren't seen as bums going in the fights, but rather legitimate challenges. The same so-called experts they are quick to reference when it comes to anything praising Manny were the same ppl who gave Mayweather little chances going in the fights against hernandez, coralles, Manfredy, Baldomir, Zab Judah, Oscar, Hatton, Mosley and even Arturro, can you believe that....Arturro?! Bert Sugar even picked Marquez over Mayweather. I have never heard Jim or Larry pick Mayweather going in a fight. Mayweather has fought better boxers than Mosley, and even pound for pound harder punchers when he met Corrales the dude had nearly a perfect ko ratio and was undefeated, so was N'dou despite one loss. I think N'dou had like 31 wins with 30KOs and one loss ( used to wrestle with lions as a rite of passage) lol.
I wouldn't say Mosley is the best fighter Floyd has faced at this stage of Mosley's career, i would prefer to say he's the best welter weight that Floyd fought.

floyd fought almost everyone in the 130 and 135 divisions,so he was great then. Didint fight kostya at 140 because floyd was hbo and kostya was showtime im going to assume. at ww zab was the former linear champ and baldo was the linear champ. and looking at floyd stints at his weight classes who was an atg at the time of floyd being there, because margs and cotto aren't atgs.

Floyd's best wins:
- Genaro Hernandez at 130lbs:
12 defenses of his WBC title. Only other loss was to ODLH at 135bs.
- Diego Corrales at 130lbs:
Took Robert Garcia's '0' to win his first world title. Was a prime P4P ranked fighter when Mayweather destroyed him. Corrales went on to take Acelino Freitas' '0' and also became Lineal champion at SFW after beating JL-Castillo. Mayweather gave Corrales his first '0'.
- Jesus Chavez at 130lbs:
Went on to become a two-weight alphabet titlist.
- Jose Luis Castillo at 135lbs:
Two wins over him, the first was very disputable, yes, but JLC was prime so 2 very good wins for Floyd.
- Arturo Gatti at 140lbs
- Zab Judah at 147lbs (coming off the back of a loss but was former undisputed champion)
- Carlos Baldomir at 147lbs:
Reigning Lineal, WBC and IBO champion.
- Oscar De La Hoya at 154lbs:
Beat a non-weight drained Oscar, unlike Pacquiao.
- Ricky Hatton at 147lbs:
Hatton was Lineal champ at 140lbs and a former Welterweight titlist. He gave Hatton his first '0'. Hatton was top-5 P4P I think.
- JMM at 147lbs:
Marquez weighed in at 142lbs, so only jumped 7lbs. Marquez was lineal champ at LW and got shut-out, even though Floyd was coming back from a 2 year lay-off. Marquez was ranked top-5 P4P at the time too.
- Mosley at 147lbs:
Coming off the back of a win over Margarito, but was inactive. Still a good win as Mosley was ranked top-5 P4P at the time. Floyd effectively ended Mosley's career.
Still, Mayweather Jnr's resume does not do justice to the amount of skill that he possesses.
A win over Pacquiao would cement his status as an ATG. And wins over a current, prime Welterweight or Light-Middleweight would also add to his resume, e.g. Berto, Senchenko, even Cotto would be a good win (future HoF'er). Khan would be a good win too if they were to fight.
I don't know what the TS's agenda is and whether or not he's a *******, but this thread fails.Last edited by £-4-£; 01-05-2011, 01:52 AM.
