I agree with the networks playing matchmaker and all that is BS!! That guy Dzinziruk, what market value does he have? a Mil? I don't think so!

The main problem that people are missing here (IMO) is this:
"HBO believes Martinez-Dzinziruk is the perfect fight to go head to head with Top Rank's pay-per-view, which takes place on March 12 in Las Vegas, and features Miguel Cotto defending his WBA 154-pound title against Ricardo Mayorga."

This is BS, this is just unethical!! Really bad for the boxing fans!! What if you are a fan of Martinez and Cotto??!!!

And on top of that, you're messing with the fighter's purses with PPV sales!! This is FD'up!!

Exactly, this doesnt have much to do with whom Martinez fight, its more of HBO vs TR issue, HBO trying to show their powerrr

Hbo has every right to control what it puts on it's air, so I agree with the fact that they demand certain matchups or go fight elsewhere. However hbo needs to do this with everyone including berto. Don't single out Sergio because he's not black

Yea I agre with the right to air what they want of course, and yes Berto needs to get the smackdown aid on him by the network also.

Martinez just got his biggest glory shot, give the guy a break and let him fight who HE wants, not what HBO wants.

And as far as this fight its a massacre, this mandatory "network" fight will draw sales cuz of Martinez, not this guy. And after Martinez beats him, what the hell is going to happen to that man? his career will be over.

Damn, if HBO took this hardnose stand with Pacquaio, maybe he'd fight someone worth a damn.

They are, at least they claim:

                    http://espn.go.com/sports/boxing/blo...dan/id/5760124

"The bottom line is Andre Berto will be in a big fight in early 2011, or he won't be on HBO," Greenburg said. "Whenever he fights next, if it's not against a big-name opponent, then you won't see him. He knows that, his management [Al Haymon] knows that. And his promoter [Lou DiBella] knows that. Believe it or not, they feel the same way. We've been very patient. Now it's time. If it doesn't happen, so be it."
