And, also if you know about me being Guatemala and read so much. Then you should have also read every the whole Margarito-Cotto situation comes I always lean towards Margarito. Who was born in the U.S but has Mexican parents and raised out of Mexico. And, you would also know how much I liked and respected Ricardo Lopez a Mexican great.
So now I am curious that you think I hate on Mexicans. When nothing I said in this thread was hating. And, only 1 other person(Tunney) has accused me of hating Mexican fighters(also accused me of hating every non-black or Afro Latino fighters) so what actually gave you the idea that I hate on Mexican fighters?Comment

Someone lied to you dude!! Interim champion is named after a champion either voluntarily vacates his title or stripped of his title, thus naming the number contender Interim champion who then has to fight someone else in for the sole Championship, But anyways why all the central american hate???
jrosales is right in that an interim champ is a sly way for sanctioning bodies to get sanctioning fees from the no 1 contender . HOw else can you explain guys who have titles and havent been vacated or stripped having to fight an interim champ who won it after they got their title?Comment

There seems to be some ignorant people posting up lies on here !! They say that Mexicans dont have any good fighters left other than Canelo Alvarez. Canelo is just a prospect right now!!! IMO he is still very young and inexperienced but he will be a future world champion! Now Mexico has at least 10 world champions, lets count them JM Marquez WBO, WBA 135, Rigoberto Alvarez WBA 154 Iterim, Humberto Soto WBC 135, Miguel Vasquez IBF 135, Jorge Soliz WBA Interim 130, Fernando Montiel WBC WBO 118, Hugo Cazares WBA 115, Thomas rojas WBC 115, Christian Mijares IBF 115, Julio Cesar Miranda WBO 112, Ramon Garcia Hilares WBO 108, Sammy Guttierez WBA 105, Giovanni Segura WBO WBA 108, Thats What was that 13 World champions and I might of left one or two off!! So no people! Mexico doesnt just have Canelo or Margarito to root for. We are a country of champions!!!!
Mexico has a lot of really good fighters out there, but you shouldn't have to count interim champs to prove it.Comment

Interim does not equal world champion.
It is all good homie as long as you get your facts straight. Mexico is in great shape now and has a rich tradition for you to be making up world champions.
I would understand if Cotto was the Super WBA champion while Alvarez was the regular WBA champion. Even though I would not consider him a world champion until he beat Cotto. Just like it is in the bantamweight division with Kameda and Moreno. I at least would understand why call him a world champion cuz' technically he is. But, interim belts are not world titles.
Is just not, stop creating world champions. No need for that at all.Comment

Dude There is just two Interim World champions that I counted, But okay i'll take them out, we still have what?11 , dont hate!!Comment

This is what happened.
The #1 contender could fight anybody and not pay sanctioning fees until he fought the world champion.
What the organizations did was create the interim title gave it the #1 contender and told them they have to pay sanctioning fees even though he is not fighting the World champions.
Just another way to make money.Comment

Technically ( according to the rules of the particular sanctioning body ) you are right but interim championships rarely work like that nowadays . THey don't even follow their own rules
