Did anyone see Morales' last fight? The only intrigue here is when Marquez stops him.

This guy jmm is just full of ****. If he really likes to fight the pacman then why is he trying to dictate the purse involve. Manny is the champion. Fight manny pacquiao, if you beat him then the winner can dictate the price.

If Marquez intends to fight fellow Mexican, then it shouldnt be MORALES but, Humberto SOTO! to unify the Lightweight Title!

Fighting Morales, who just come out of retirement without showing proof that he is in top shape, has nothing to contribute, in the claim of Marquez as a worthy challenger to Pacman!

If he doesn't want to fight SOTO, then fight another Chamo wanting to fight Pacman, and these are Andre BERTO and BRADLEY!

Explain to me why Marquez turn down a career high payday of 1.5 million to fight Morales in fall of 2006?

Marquez and his manager Nacho Beristain did not do his career any favors. After the bout with Pacquiao, Marquez rejected a career high $750,000 for the rematch and demanded $1.5 million, which was the entire license fee offered by HBO. In 2005, Top Rank offered Marquez $1.5 million to face Erik Morales in the main event on an HBO pay-per-view that was scheduled to take place in the Fall of 2006. Again Marquez rejected the offer, requesting an unrealistic $3.5 million, a figure that according to Top Rank, was an amount that even the more marketable Erik Morales had never been guaranteed in his entire career

Not suprising..JMM has always been consistent on turning down money fights... Hamed, Morales, Pac rematch (2004), Khan, and then Pac trilogy in 2009..

Erik is going to surprise some folks, he is highly motivated. He is not a dumb man, and is certainly not in any way in need of one last payday. If Erik Morales hasn't earned the right to be taken seriously, who has? These guys are true action heroes, this fight has can't miss all over it. I'm a white Canadian and I'm going, wouldn't miss it.
