After the bout with Pacquiao, Marquez rejected a career high $750,000 for the rematch and demanded $1.5 million, which was the entire license fee offered by HBO. In 2005, Top Rank offered Marquez $1.5 million to face Erik Morales in the main event on an HBO pay-per-view that was scheduled to take place in the Fall of 2006. Not suprising..JMM has always been consistent on turning down money fights... Hamed, Morales, Pac rematch (2004), Khan, and then Pac trilogy in 2009..

Erik is going to surprise some folks, he is highly motivated. He is not a dumb man, and is certainly not in any way in need of one last payday. If Erik Morales hasn't earned the right to be taken seriously, who has? These guys are true action heroes, this fight has can't miss all over it. I'm a white Canadian and I'm going, wouldn't miss it.
