There are really only 2 things you need to observe here: HIS KO percentage and the fact that this guy is a come forward brawler. You can attribute his success to his power which really the only thing going for him with his style of boxing. suggesting that his power is overrated is a little naive

There are people who overrate it, but on the whole, I think not. He's got serious horseshoes and handgrenades power - if he even comes close, you feel it. He snaps heads back with glancing punches. His technique is **** and he gets too excited, but in terms of raw power, he's got it in spades.

I think his and Khan's power is overrated.

Maidana does not have an iron chin and ate like 300 punches from Khan, solid punches too. Ortiz hurt Maidana and put him down so it's not like Maidana is like a Margarito.

And Khan...I don't care what I saw, he does not have a good chin. For Maidana to land on Khan as much as he did and not finish him, or ever really even hurting him outside of that one huge right hand in the 10th, says to me that he's not a huge puncher.
