Manny's resume has been tarnished by fighting at catchweights and thus weight-draining his opponents, therefore rendering them relatively harmless:
- De La Hoya at 145lbs (to put this into perspective, Floyd fought him at 154lbs).
- Cotto at 145lbs (those 2 extra lbs killed Cotto)
- Margarito at 150lbs (Manny would have still won if Margarito was at 154, but it would have been a bit more competitive).
Manny also lost a fight against JMM.
The only legit fight Manny's had in the last 2 years is Hatton at 140lbs. Hatton was lineal champ at the time. But Floyd still took Hatton's soul beforehand.
The Clottey fight was a joke.
If Manny beats Floyd at 147lbs, and lets Martinez weigh in at 158-160lbs and still beats him, then Manny would be top 5-15 ATG - I'd still rank SRL ahead of him too.
