Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told Sports Illustrated that he was approached on Thursday by Top Rank for a trilogy bout between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez. A shocking demand was made by Marquez. He requested a 50-50 split on the money with Pacquiao. For a guy chasing a Pacquiao trilogy since their 2008 rematch, Marquez found an amazing way to say "no thank you."

In a move we all expected, Marquez, like Floyd Mayweather Jr., made a demand for random Olympic style drug tests. BoxingScene.com reported on December 24 that Marquez would demand random drug tests for a trilogy bout with Pacquaio.

Schaefer told BoxingScene.com, also last month, that Pacquiao would have to take random blood tests for a fight with any Golden Boy Promotions fighter - and that includes Shane Mosley.

Promoter Gary Shaw predicted this would happen during a December interview with BoxingScene. He said back then - "If he doesn't do the tests with Mayweather, I believe the only fights that Pacquiao will be able to get are with fighters who are with Top Rank. All other promoters are going to want to know that they are fighting on level playing field."

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum told SI that he won't even consider any form of testing that is beyond what a state commission requires for any future fight with Pacquiao. He blames himself for making the mistake of even considering random blood testing during the Pacquiao-Mayweather negotiations. Pacquiao will now face another Joshua Clottey, also with Top Rank, on March 13.

"This is beyond ******," said Arum. "That was my biggest mistake, allowing any of this to happen. I should have said no. We're not revisiting [blood testing]. We're not negotiating with these punks anymore. If Mayweather wants to fight Pacquiao down the road, he will have to go by the testing the state commission asks for. If not, life goes on."

yea, it's easy to predict that he's gonna throw punches with the intent of knocking your head off ur shoulders and is gonna follow up with dozens of punches with the same intent in one exchange to boot

it's easy to predict, not so easy to deal with

Can't really be called a duck if Pac ruled out any more MW's

want to keep misrepresenting the chronology, then troll on.

Using Mosley as a monetary justification is pretty shallow. Outside of the Fraud match when he had a 24/7 and hype, he's never sold any ppv's.
Marquez did more as a superfw than Mosley's ever done without Fraud or Oscar.
LOL... just laying out TR's way of thinking.
Your counter is flawed, however. It isn't about years-ago
drawing power, but most recent data. Just how much did
          Marquez-Katsidis bank, again?

In any case, I actually disagree with how TR views JMM's ability
to generate revenue wrt cinco de mayo weekend, which is when
          he'd have been fighting Manny.

Extra factors aplenty against Pac-JMM 3:
Arum hates Schaefer, and Pacquiao's not eager to reward
          JMM's insults with a payday.

This is a very good point, and this *****s still insists that Manny is ducking Marquez, how can you duck somebody that you fought twice already??!!! WTF!!! Ducking is when Leonard didn't give Hagler the rematch after only one fight that ended in a decision, Ducking is when Floyd didn't give Oscar the rematch after a split decision win, Ducking is when Floyd didn't give Tony the fight after Tony won over Cotto and challenge Floyd publicly for a fight, Ducking is when Floyd bashes Manny for being a one-dimensional midget that has no chance of winning against him then still insists that Manny be tested for PEDS because he fears for his life.. WTF is that??!!!

And yet Floyd Jr nuthuggers blame Bob Arum for inhouse fights with PAC

Mosley is wise, he knows how to secure a fight with PAC

              Marquez is st upid!!!

Notice how the times when Cotto got knocked down they were when Pacquiao was picking his shots. Basically during exchanges. Not only that but Cotto doesn't have good foot movement he likes to control the fight, and when he doesn't he quits. He quit pretty much after the 4th round. Pacquiao had the perfect style to destroy Cotto.

how was pac testing miguels power when it was clear that pac didnt see those double jabs coming that snapped his head back in the opening rounds? and being countered most of the time in rd1 is testing his power? do boxers test their opponents power by getting caught with counterpunches?

Pac is not easy to predict. His akward and unorthodox style is very hard to anticipate.
