I don't like when people say Mayweather will destroy Pacquiao because of what Marquez did to him. For this reason alone: Marquez is a counter-puncher by nature, but he can and will take a shot if he has to. He'd prefer not to, though, and would rather his technique carry the day. He ate a lot of Pacquiao's shots and he countered in the midst of that. Kudos. But it wasn't enough to win.
Erik Morales. This guy was practically a masochist in the ring. He ate shots from everybody he fought, and it looked like he enjoyed it. And honestly, as bizarre as it may sound (and it could very well be the scotch talking), I think that's what you have to do to beat Pacquiao. You have to be willing to eat his best combinations and maintain your composure enough to fire one back when his is over. A better one. Not many people can do that. I think Morales was the perfect combination of balls, chin, and technique. And it worked.
Mayweather isn't your traditional Mexican fighter. He doesn't want to get hit. If he just absolutely stonewalled Pacquiao with technique, I would be pretty surprised, but would praise the win significantly. But if Pacquiao shows he's going to make it a tough night, I'd say he's already won.

How can you easily predict unorthodox akward fighters???
Are you aware with what most of his fallen opponents say after the fight?
They say they can't see where the punches are coming from...does that tell you something?
They can't see because they can't predict.
Now please, it is new year and let us all try to contribute something productive to this sport that we all love. Let us post comments to our hearts' content, but please let us all make sure we know what we are talking about.

Yes, and because of his speed and power he can get away with it. It also helps to match him up against slow footed opponents that like to trade with him.
Arum knows what he's doing.
