Hamed is still, without question, the greatest featherweight of the 1990's.The greatest and most accomplished fighter of his own division over ten years - not bad
You dismiss Barrera's win over Hamed because he is not a British ******.

If you think Morales was 'too fragile' you should revisit his first fights with Barrera and Pac. What im trying to get across is that it was the same Naz in with Barrera he just didnt look good coz Barrera was just too good, he wouldnt let him look good, kept his left foot outside Hameds right foot all night long and was just technically too good. Barrera read everything so well that night and got hit cleanly with what, 1 or 2 power shots that had zero affect, made Naz look like an amatuer.

and erik morales and barrera beat a shot version of kelley afta naseem koed him

Naseem was calling out barrera and morales for years but they wouldnt move up and barrera timed his move right and was the better man on the night

Hamed fought Augie Sanchez after Sanchez had already been knocked out in 1 round by a journeyman named Edgar Garcia.

Again, Augie Sanchez was a jourrney man. I really don't understand why you give Hamed so much credit for that win.

not to forget, sanchez was still giving hamed fits up until hamed pulled a classic " hit on a clean break" that rocked augie and he was out on his feet after that.

i was training in augies gym at that time and he was setup like a prize pig if you ask me.

anywho, sanchez was a prime example of how warren would build up hamed and the rest of his fighters. he was a chinny guy with a decent punch, decent looking record, and wasn't ready for that kind of fight yet....

anyway you slice it, hamed was exposed as a fraud after fighting barrera, because he quit after one loss. he had the fighter beaten out of him by barrera.

if hamed was any bit of a real champ and boxer he would've made it back to the top to rule, which is nothing close to what he did.

he got boo'd out the ring by his hometown crowd and never stepped back into the ring again as a fighter.................. something a great DOES NOT DO.

true, forgot about that, but the model was set, it was the same match making ideals. either way, i for the life of me can not accept hamed as a great, although his achievements are REALLY good, i just don't hold the sentiment that he is great based solely on what he did after his first loss......

and it seems that after hamed split up with warren, he had his toughest fights, minus sanchez, even though augie put him on the canvas....
