Arum knows where he stands on this issue. Just to make a point, I think he will go for that same date without HBO because he knows Cotto's PPV even not under HBO will outsell HBO's Sergio.

I know Arum is doing boxing a big disfavor with his **** match-ups, but this is one battle with HBO that I think he will win. He holds the ace on Cotto.

However, I do hope that HBO will stick to their gun just to make a point with promoters making BS fights.
i wouldnt pay for cotto angullo or even worse cotto cintron... GTF Cotto neds too fight them before Martinez?

We all know Cotto would fight whoever bob puts infront of him.. the guys resume is superb... he puts manny and floyd too shame.. he aint won all them but he has at least shown tyhe heart too fight whoever is out there which non of the top 3 p4p have done apart from sergio>>

its bob saving him for marg 2.. Cotto would fight anyone and for anyone on here to disagree would be just plain bias

this is good in the long term as Arum has been getting away with too much free reign recently, putting on some good cards, but also some really poor cards....I'm glad HBO have grown some balls - but in all reality, he will just put it on his own PPV or sell it to another network. Bob is well connected. He's proven many times, he can act independently and isn't dependant on any one State, Venue, TV company etc....he's very self sufficient but also very full of himself that every fight he puts on is what we want to see and it simply isnt.

Nope, alraedy failed at that. Pacquiao/Mosley is on the horizon.
Glad they aren't buying this crap though.

          did arum ever protect floyd?
he was never concerned about floyd losing, he let him fight everyone he wanted to fight.
he never did that with floyd what he does currently with cotto & pacquiao.
proves that arum trusted floyd more than his current fighters.

I don't think HBO think a Cotto fight isn't ppv worthy right now. The date is just another issue.

All in and all they see through bobs bull****.

Cotto-Mayorga would do better numbers than Cotto-Foreman on regular HBO.

I like what HBO did and should keep blocking Arum from giving us his ****ty Top Rank PPV's. Cotto V Mayorga should not be happening at this point in Miguels career. Sorry, the fight might be fun to watch but it still is a disgrace for Bob to put one of the most popular fighters in the world in with a bum. Arum may of been good for the sport 30 years ago but now he is one of the worst people in it.

Nope, HBO didn't gave them a date in March. They have them reserved for Sergio and Canelo.
