This would be awesome but i won't get my hopes up. If it happened i would take Mayweather in a close decision.
Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez: I Think Floyd Mayweather Would Fight Me

LOL last time Floyd fought was against a shot Shane Mosley in May, but he's going to take on the MW champion, a slick southpaw (Sr's biggest nightmare) in his first fight back after a year and 1/2 off? Ok
And also...
Martinez seems to believe that Floyd Mayweather would be more eager to face him. “Floyd’s the pound-for-pound king and he makes the rules. It would be an honor to fight the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. We’d fight him for the junior middleweight title or the middleweight title,” Martinez continued in an interview with FightHype’s own Mike Juhas. “It would be an honor to fight him at any weight he desires between 154 and 160 pounds, for either title, as long as it’s at a minimum of 154 pounds.”

At least Manny/Roach/Top Rank took the time to humor Sergio about a fight. Looks like Serg is still waiting since May for Floyd to give the greenlight for a showdown in Dubai.

lmao nut hugging at his bestm saying marquez and mosley was the best fight available, jesus christ you are a ******Martinez is right on with this one. When and if Mayweather decides to comeback and a fight isn't made with Pac, Money has fought the enxt best P4P guy available his last two times out. The middleweight champ is the next best P4P, so it makes sense. Personally, I'm much more excited about the prospects of Mayweather-Martinez than Mayweather-Pacquaio. But hey, I'd settle for either at this point.
BTW, Martinez beats Money via UD.Comment

mayweather wont fight cotto until cotto is like 35 and declined a lot
mayweather always picks the guys he fight smartly
oscar was coming off a huge lay off and a garbage fight
hatton was a 140 fighter
marquez was a 135 fighter
mosley was coming off a huge lay off
cotto is a proper solid a class welterweight, no way in hell would anybody fight cotto, its not that floyd couldnt win but its just that it is a very risky fight. I would even say that if pac wasnt under top rank, no would he have fought cotto because he would have been too much of a risk
I think it was Ariza who said pac had geniune fear in training when preparing for cotto, he took that camp really seriously and was worried
mayweather taking a risky fight? never ever, there is a reason he has ducked the top guysComment

Ironic, ain't it? Arum and Martinez's people already agreed to a fight in the fall. Pac/Floyd-Martinez most likely will never happen, but if Sergio somehow ends up with Top Rank, wouldn't be surprised if Pac-Martinez happened in early '12 at 154. Wouldn't hold my breath though.Comment

Sergio knows vacationing Floyd would fight him.
He also knows "Money Manny Excuses" who fights for the people won't fight him..Even though Manny's active and took "ladies choice" in older man Mosley.
Sergio knows.
Mayweather would.
Manny won't.
Manny won't even fight a rematch with older Marquez coming off a win, nor Berto, nor the winner of Bradley Alexander. Maybe once they've shown decline and had a good loss or two for them to be "100%".
Manny WILL add older man Mosley's name to his "legendary" career.Comment
good one
