Berto will consider fighting anyone outside the actual, legit threats at 147.

Arum doesnt need to negotiate with Haymon.. He can negotiate with DiBella..

2.Yes Berto has a belt but you know why no cares that he has it??He beat Ricky Martin to get it,fought a good competitor in Collazo(I felt he lost)went life and death and since has only fought lay down fighters..So his belt holds no weight to how his status as a hype job is viewed..

3.Clottey looked bad against Pac but who else has he looked bad against??Berto an't Pac he should fight umm..

4.Cotto easy road!!!!!You have got to be kidding..When Cotto was a Jr WW to when he fought Marga's name me two easy fights Cotto had??
Who has Karass beat that gives you the impression that he'd walk all over Berto??????? Vince Phillips???? Gomez?????? Rome you are better than this bruh.

As for Cotto's record at 140. Go to BoxRec and skim through the names. He had maybe three semi hard touches at 140 Bailey, N'Dou, and Corley. Yes the same Chop Chop that had his soul stolen by Floyd one fight before.

Now Clottey hasn't looked good since he beat Chico(RIP). That there says enough in itself. I understand that you feel Berto's a hype job, but please dont forget the Boxing politics involved at this level Rome homie.

I do agree that he should rematch Collazo, but I think Berto has grown, and you wont like the outcome of that fight TBH.

Pacman is smaller fighter...if Pacman can fight bigger and stronger fighter...Why not JMM????if JMM has superior skills then he can do what Pacman did....Beat Cotto, Clottey and Margarito...Why go back at 135 or move up to 140 only to fight faded and shot Morales??....Fight Berto and make a statement that he is competitive at higher weight....Since both Berto and Marquez badly want Pacman then fight for the right to have a chance for a fight for Pacman....Berto needs a name fighter for his next fight and that is Marquez, while Marquez needs a good WW fighter on his next fight and that its Berto....Both fighters have no scheduled fight yet....Berto vs Marquez should happen!!!!!

I personally enjoy watching JMM defend the lightweight title. And personally, I don't feel he should go north of that division for anyone outside of Pacquaio. That said, he and Berto would be a logical fight. Problem is, I don't think fighting Berto gets him any closer to a rubbermatch with Pac. Arum is clearly trying to get him beaten to eliminate him as a threat to Pac. If he fights berto, I'll watch. But personally, I'd much rather see him fight Robert Guerrero and see if Pac will fight him later this year.

I am shocked that you would say such things Rome. Berto's sister was missing for 48hrs in Haiti, and he lost plenty of family members, not just a 3rd cuzzin bruh. But if thats how you feel, then thats how you feel. The 1st fight is not a duck. The negotiations for the 2nd fight coulda went better, but you just had Shane get his as$ handed to him by Floyd. If Shane wanted to maintain his marketability, then he should have fought with more spirit, instead of quiting mentally like I told you he had the propensity to do before the bout took place. Shane ****ed up his 50/50 split by being dogged and walked down by a smaller fighter.

Oh and Kats lost that fight didnt he???????

Marquez must make a statement that he can compete against a good fighter at higher weight..This is the time to fight Berto and prove that he is competitive and worthy to fight Pacman at higher weight....Don't go back at 135 and fight faded and shot Morales...Its time to move up and make a statement...for Berto its time for him to prove or test himself against a name opponent...The winner will have a chance to fight Pacman...if Marquez opted to fight Morales instead of Berto, then Marquez is only looking for a big and last retirement payday against Pacman...

So by your logic, thats who Pac should be fighting then right? The Morales fight is to settle a in-country rivalry, he gets a slight pass for that fight. I honestly dont think that JMM belongs north of 140 in all reality. But dont buy that Pac is a smaller fight mess. He's a full-WW now. The best thing for Berto to do is unify. Everything else will fall into place after that.
