I have all the respect in the world for Hopkins, but he's not above Manny. You're acting like he wasn't refusing to step in the ring with Chad Dawson the last year.

He had legit reasons. Chad brings nothing to the table, no excitement, no fanbase, no money, and very little intrigue because he went life and death with glen Johnson and wasn't fighting much himself. Chad was bullshi tting and demanding this and that, which he never really earned the right to do.

So instead, he fights the guy who whooped Chad, has a huge fanbase and held the lineal championship.


For those in here shi tting on manny, don't forget manny is still active and can reverse his recent trend of shi t fights (although he is very entertaining). Manny just needs to step it up so he's not remembered the way Floyd is gonna be remembered.

I agree, Hopkins has taken on all sorts of styles, always put up a challenge. Pacquiao's having a hard time "trying" to get Mayweather in the ring, which is frustrating because Mayweather's style is a nightmare in my eyes for Pacquiao. Its a shame Cotto didn't start using movement until it was too late. I just think so far it's amazing how many weight divisions Pacquiao has gone through and somewhat dominated, but I believe since the 2nd Marquez fight, his career has been engineered pretty well.

Onto Hopkins, I hate watching him fight, but he completely nullifies all his opponents strengths, and more often than not forces them to fight his fight. I feel frustrated watching, so I can't imagine how his opponent feels. Hopkins trying to get a rematch with Jones Jr. was equally as frustrating as the situation now with Mayweather and Pacquiao. However outside of that he took the challenges alot of people didn't want.

Hopkins is a pretty spectacular athlete, and to still be doing what he's doing is amazing. To be honest in my eyes anyway, Pacquiao dosen't even come into the same equation with Hopkins and Mayweather. Mayweather's one of the most naturally talented boxers I've seen, and Hopkins has achieved beyond what you expect of him. I know people will disagree but Hopkins and Mayweather just have something more imo. Although I'm not denying it's cool that Pacquiao's come from an extremely poor background, winning his 1st title at flyweight, to what weight he's campaigning at now.

So there I was all hyped to come make this exact tread & U beat me to it,damn!!A fellow boxing fan that can see what it is for what it is!!U forgot to mention that half of the guys he beat,He was supposed to lose to!!Floyd & Manny were favored in almost all of they're biggest fights!!Matter of fact if I'm not mistaken the only fight in recent memory where Pacman wasn't favored was against Oscar!!

Yeah,he's closer,but I look at his fights & I see a lot of suspect things on there,IMO his most credible wins of the last couple years above 135 are Hatton & Oscar!!Cotto at 145 left me thinking,then he fought Clottey at the full weight & added Margarito in a bull**** title fight,now they're considering Mosley,but they & many (Pacman fans) are pissed at the former title holder Martinez for saying he'll fight him for his 154lb title!!But most people that know know's I can't stand Floyd,but he was criticized for not fighting Mosley,but when he did,the excuses started pouring out,now all of a sudden,half the critics tune has changed to"well can Manny be the 1st to stop Mosley"??Unfair,& very!!

I'm glad you found one person to grab a hold of as someone bhop recently avoided, allegedly. Shall I list all of the fights manny and Floyd have avoided recently? We can go that route and I can easily chop both their opposition to bits compared to nard's, just by all the fighters they've not managed to get in the ring with.

To the other poster, how are you gonna say manny's career has been "engineered" lately and not talk about floyd's career being engineered. Which is has been worse than manny's.

Being an athletically, naturally gifted boxer is great, but not proving it and displaying your skills vs the best sucks ass and that's Floyd in a nutshell and that's an indisputable fact. So no, Floyd is not in a separate class from manny.

Jmm is closer to nard as far as having the stones to fight the best goes.
