Scores for Hopkins-Pascal were dead on, and the referee I think did his best. Thought the first knockdown could have gone either way. I was impressed by the accurate cards that were turned in for Pascal-Dawson, and I think that cut was really nasty. Maybe it should have continued, but it was a BAD cut. I think Canada is probably fairer in hometown situations than my beloved home city of St. Louis, and certainly more so than Texas. That probably holds true for most venues in the U.S. I think Quebec is a very fair place to fight as long as you keep Marlon B. Wright far, far away from the action. Andrade is the only guy I've seen that had a legitimate beef.

This decision was only controversial because the fight was so close and so many people wanted Hopkins to win for the sake of history. Round by Round, I had it a draw, and I think an equally good argument could be made that either guy won it by a point or two. I scored 2 rounds as real close for each fighter.

there are 3 things that stand out as su****ious to me in this fight:

The ref should have called the first knock down an illegal punch to the back of the head, it was unintentional but still an illegal punch, no knock down.

The ref should have taken a point from Pascal for hitting Hopkins in the back of the head, he warned him literally about 7 or 8 different times.

When was the last fuc k in time you seen a judge score an even round? One of the judges scored an even round, I have been watching boxing for almost 30 years, never seen a judge score an even round, heard it talked about a lot, think its a good idea and appropriate many times but never seen it done, till now.

I do think it was a close fight just a few things i had issues with. Yeah Andrade got ripped so obvious, that should have been investigated and the ref should have been suspended.

The punch was behind the ear. Not really behind the head, but not clearly on the side of the head either. There was no good or bad decision. And remember that the ref didn't have replays to make his call, and had less than a second to decide.

He warned him 3 times. None of the rabbit punches were deliberate. The ref also didn't warn Hopkins for 2 low blows. Anyway, the punches themselves didn't have an effect.

When was the last time you saw a judge decide not to give a 10-8 round after a KD? The same judge who scored one round 10-10 did that in the 1st round (10-9 Pascal). If the judge was corrupted, he would've jumped on the occasion to give the local fighter a 10-8 round, don't you think?

I don't like 10-10 rounds either, but when the round really is close, it's better than to flip a coin...
