im pretty sure its hbo who wants nothing to do with cintron. berto is essentially an hbo fighter so...but i agree with all this fight is pointless.

Another good idea, Am sure the fight can be made. Berto just need to be fighting competitive matchups now at 147, I think the honeymoon period should be over for him, I dont like the way he has been matchup especially recently.

HBO wanted the Mosley and Cotto fights for Berto and neither could be made, both camps accused Berto and his camp of overpricing themselves. The common denominator being Berto and his camp. It is what it is.

There ain't no way that two million demand came with knowing the max total was 3, maybe they said three but Dibella said 2 would get the fight made knowing that regular HBO would probably not be an option (if they are paying three).

I would not expect Cotto to take less than 5 to fight Berto, but I wouldn't go around claiming he avoided Berto because he wanted 175% of what HBO offered.

I also don't think 2 million is all that huge a payday, sure it is more than it is worth but in a big fight what is one extra million to the b-side.

That should not be a deal breaker with Cotto because they can put that on PPV and get 500k. Which is 25 million in revenue.

Quite frankly Berto is at a sink or swim point he just needs to get his shot at sinking or swimming.

If there are no such opportunities as long as he stays busy against reasonable opposition fair play, because that is his profession and so he is in good shape for whenever that sink or swim fight pops up.

The men will always get separated from the boys why stress it.
