Dibella Trying To Make Berto-Maidana

In the immediate aftermath of Maidana's exciting (but losing) performance against Khan in their junior welterweight title bout last Saturday in Las Vegas, Golden Boy's Schaefer, who promotes Khan and co-promotes Maidana, and DiBella talked about a possible fight next year between Maidana and Andre Berto. Berto is in the running to land a May 7 shot against Manny Pacquiao, but he's a long shot to get the fight. However, it looks like a Berto-Maidana fight is unlikely. "Richard said he would explore it, but he needs to talk to Maidana and HBO told me [Wednesday] that they didn't think it would happen because Maidana wants to stay at 140," DiBella said. "HBO would be happy to buy the fight, but they don't think it can be made." ESPN

If Maidana was looking to move up and Berto's team were interested is one thing, but Dibella fishing for 140 pound opponents to fight is just disgraceful...

****ing Berto man , good thing GBP and Madiana aren't interested because moving up to fight a faster 160 pound Berto is no easy task. There's a good chance Maidana knocks him out though.
