This fight is an IBF title elimenator. The winner of this fight get's a mandatory title fight against Byrd. It is Wlad's last desperate attempt to get a world title shot.
Why did Wlad take the Peter fight???

i dont care whether u like or hate wlad, he got mad balls for taken this fight against an up and coming heavyweight.
its do or die like sum1 said
he looses- his career is pretty much over as far as ppl taking him seroiusly at all! cuz 2 losses recently, and a 3rd will be over for him
he wins - hes right back up there, proves himself as a great heavyweight, and will put much of the questions to restComment

If He wins it was cause Peter was too young and inexperienced. Doesnt really help his cause.
If he loses Petter is a superstar and Wlad is proably done.
So whats the real reason he has taken this fight. He could easly have fought some other less talented Contenders and gotten a title fight.Comment

I think it was Manny Steward that pushed him. I remember Lampley was saying, is Wlad ready for the bigger opponents. And if you remember every time Lampley or Merchant asked a question like this, Steward said he's ready now.Comment

Wow, I've been trying to say this for months ,but you said it very concise.
