    Jacobs and Pirog (especially) had pretty weak resumes before getting the chance to fight for a vacant title.

            Oh i thought this thread was for the fighters road to their first title. If that's not the case then Pacquiao's JMW run should be on the list.

                He actually didn't win the WBA title, he beat some random journeyman and they gave him a vacant interim title for it, then kept bumping his status up to ordinary champ then super champ when he beat Salido.

                He is the real IBF FW champ though, can't take that from him.

                      David Haye without a doubt.

                      He backed out of a fight with Wladimir, then he ducked a fight with Vitali in order to fight the paper champion, old ponderous Valuev who had already lost to Chagaev.
