Comments Thread For: Amir Khan: I Want the Alexander-Bradley Winner, Then 147

Last Saturday at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KOs) earned his sixth straight win by surviving a very dangerous tenth round to win a twelve round unanimous decision over Marcos Maidana. Khan's run includes four knockouts, and the recent win over Maidana is the third defense of the crown that he won by dethroning Ukrainian Andriy Kotelnik by unanimous decision in July 2009.

I have no problem with this, as long as he fights the Bradley/Alexander winner.

      Khan making moves!

I don't think people could complain about that. Sure, you will get a few people *****ing for Ortiz but in reality if Khan does beat the winner of Alexander/Bradley he has pretty much cleared out 140. I have no problem with him moving on to 147 to fight the big dogs in that division.

Who does he have in mind at 147?

          Andre Berto?

          Canelo?

I think Andre Berto is to strong for him.

          But who knows.

Maybe his chin gets even better at 147.

Seems to be a recurring theme for Roach fighters.

I am not surprised he is thinking of moving up to WW. He looked to me that making 140 was not too easy for him.

                Sounds like a good plan.

                  I like Khan.

If he can beat Bradley, more power to him.

He could be the new Oscar.

But I see Desert Storm ending him.

                  Let the best fighter win.

The winner becomes a real superstar of boxing.

Props to Khan for his wins at 140, but I wouldn't leave so soon. Maybe fight Ortiz or someone. Defending the belts once their unified would be pretty cool.

Also, isn't one of the titles not on the line in Bradley/Alexander because it's being stripped? He could fight someone for the strap. Maybe even rematch Maidana.

I know it's an afterthought, but I think 147 might be too much too soon. He should hang out and mature a little.
