Prescott ****ed Khan so bad everyone thought his career is over after thatGive me examples of what you're talking about in regards to Amir Khan? Corrales was not damaged goods in that sense. He couldn't make the weight and he couldn't compete with the bigger fighters in higher weight classes. He was in alot of wars though, so who knows. The guy is passed away though and I don't want to be disrespectful. What do you think about Meldrick Taylor? Is this a joke? C'mon man.
do you think Khan is already "damaged goods"?
do you know who Meldrick Taylor is? pls answerComment

Did you not read what I said? Has Khan looked bad since his knockout loss, or been on a steady ascent?
Meldrick Taylor fought on much too long. He was not the same fighter after Chavez, of course. Muhammad Ali was guilty of the same, fighting on for too long. These are two seperate things though.Comment

English is not my language but I can understand a little, though it's hard to speak & write. It's better if you can teach me English
KOed twice, KD by Hessein, KD by a Kazakhstan guy past Ledwaba. What can you say about Pac- Morales/Marquez?Comment

So a fighter is a damaged good if his performance is spiraling down?
If so, Cotto is not because since Margo he beat your Jennings guy and Yuri. Don't tell me they are bum?
And so is Hatton, he bounced back after Floyd. Many thought that he will be schooled by Paulie-but I'm lazy to find those threads/post now.
And what about Clottey, I ask in the previous post if he's weight drained, damaged good or what? And also, is their alternative to Clottey at that time besides Floyd?Last edited by MtClimber; 12-15-2010, 06:47 AM.Comment

Ok then, let's see.
1.) Antonio Margarito
This man was exposed as a cheat of the highest order and then promptly exposed, 22 months before his fight with Pacquiao. Bob Arum was probably sure that Marg would pose no threat to his cash cow without concrete in his gloves. See the fights with Clottey, P. Will and the Mosley fight if you would like to see the true Margarito.
2.) Joshua Clottey
A slow, plodding, hardworking but very limited boxer who was outboxed by damaged goods in Cotto and the real Margarito.
3.) Miguel Angel Cotto
This man was never going to be the same again after getting beaten BADLY by a dirty cheat with concrete in his gloves, as was evident in his struggle to overcome Clottey. When a fighter thrives on his unbeaten and invincible reputation it has irreversable effects when he is beaten and bloodied and battered thoroughly. It does things mentally to a fighter. I will give you examples if you don't understand. Was also somewhat exposed by Shane Mosley prior to the Margarito fight.
4.) Ricky Hatton
A fighter who was exposed by Luis Collazo, and then again in more brutal fashion by Floyd Mayweather Jr. Hatton was done as a top fighter after the Mayweather fight. An accident waiting to happen. All his dreams went out of the window in 60 minutes with Mayweather. After that, every second interview was about retirement, he ballooned up in weight, just was not the fighter he once was. The motivation was gone.
He arguably would have got stopped by Juan Laszcano if it wasn't for hometown refereeing, was in a "tough fight" and marked up badly in a fight with feather-fisted Paulie Malignaggi. And let's not forget, he is a brawler, we all know this. Yet his trainer for the fight was a man solely about boxing skills and slickness, speed, using footwork. All things Hatton never had. This fight in particular is just a tragedy if you think about it long enough. The Hatton that fought Mayweather would have given Pacquiao a hell of a fight.
5.) Oscar De La Hoya
In the fight with Mayweather, it was clear to see that Oscar was just that little bit over the hill, so much so that he wasn't gonna win. Don't get me wrong though, Oscar put alot into this and made it a really hard fight. The stark contrast then in the fight a year later with Steve Forbes was shocking to behold. Oscar got beat up in that fight, and looked weak at the weight, at 150lb. He got ****** up bad. It was clear to see he had declined rapidly in the 12 months since the Mayweather fight.
Then of course, 7 months later he faces Pacquiao, and has to cut even more weight, down to a weight he hasn't made for 8 years previously. Oscar looked malnourished, like a walking corpse, it was plain for everybody to see. He was a total shell of his former self, and Pacquiao was able to out-strength him with little trouble. Weakness at the weight, slowness, and lack of punch resistance are all clear signs of over-doing the weight cutting. All signs which were clear in this fight.
Hope this helps you understand a little better.
