PASCAL over HOPKINS!!!!!!?????

well considering how easily RJJ beat him, a ****tier version could still do the job...Is Hopkins throwing this fight? Why the odds have him so low when Pascal fights like a ****tier version of Roy Jones Jr.? I wonder how many uppercuts Bhop will land on Pascal. Pascal is a lame ass boxer who tries to emulate Roy Jones Jr. instead of having his own style.Comment

The ONLY reason I haven't placed the bet already, is because Hopkins ONLY fights guys he knows he can beat... which worries me.
Pascal is obviously beatable and flawed, and if Hopkins at age 45 can use those flaws to his advantage then Pascal is ****ed.
But its gonna be tough for ANY 45 year old to beat a very young, athletic, active fighter who was JUST crowned champion in front of 16,000 adoring fans...Comment

So instead of basing it on who's style will work best against the opponents', you factor in that Hopkins only fights guys he knows he can beat? The ONLY reason I haven't placed the bet already, is because Hopkins ONLY fights guys he knows he can beat... which worries me.

That has almost no bearing on the outcome of the fight, except for Hopkins confidence. His confidence won't be what avoids or lands the punches.
Pascal rarely counter punches and his feints and ability to waste time aren't on RJ's level. Pascal will shoot his load and be a sitting duck for Hopkins, who's going to jump on him and maul the **** out of him on the inside. Pascal will be gassed by the middle rounds, trying to get a second wind, but the old man won't leave him alone.
If Hopkins had the accuracy to counter, Pascal would be completely ****ed, but lucky for him Hopkins is going on 46 and lost some of his accuracy.Comment

And of course i take things like that into considering because it makes perfectly logical sense. If hopkins only picks opponents he KNOWS he can beat, and avoids tougher fights, then it SHOULD and DOES worry me that he has ZERO issues with fighting Pascal.
And You analysis of the fight is horrible IMO dude. Hopkins hasnt fought like that since like the Trinidad fight 10 years ago... And EVERY SINGLE time Hopkins loses it is to a fighter similar to Pascal. Aka, a guy with very quick hands, who throws combinations in bursts, and wins fights with activity... aka Joe Calzaghe, aka Jermain Taylor (doesnt usually but he beat Hopkins by simply doing more), and aka Roy Jones Jr....
And Pascal is gonna blow his load and tire?! the guy fought in a WAR against Froch and was still fighting HARD in the 12th. The pace of this fight won't even compare to that one.
When you learn how to analyze a fight, then maybe ill listen to your opinion before i place a bet...
EDIT: And HOPKINS doesn't have the accuracy to Counter?!?!?!?! dude basically knocked out Trinidad with a counter, knocked Tarver off his feet with a counter, knocked Calzaghe down with a counter, rocked Jermian Taylor with a counter...Last edited by Kball15; 12-15-2010, 12:36 PM.Comment
