If Maidana's punches are so easy to see coming and avoid, then how is he doing so well against top tier competition who cannot avoid those slow, looping punches? And since when is Marquez so hard to hit? Again, did you watch the Diaz and Katsidis fights besides the rounds he scored the KOs in? Did you watch the Pacquiao fights? Did you see him fight Barrera and Chris John? Did you watch him fight Casamoyer?

There is seriously no logic to your argument, you just keep saying Maidana is slow and Marquez will counterpunch him. Okay, but how will he handle being pinned against the ropes often against Maidana? How will he handle a guy who punches so hard, again harder than anyone except maybe Pacquiao Marquez has ever fought? How will he handle Maidana's own will and heart? How will he avoid Maidana's punches?
now you are trying to spin the subject around WHAHAHAHA. let me remind you of what you said. you said that marquez struggled with kats & diaz. i brought up the point that marquez didn't get a split decision or a draw in any of those fights, and he wasn't down on the cards before he stopped those guys. you can fly off into LALA SPACE all you want but we are talking about MARQUEZ vs diaz & katsidis. marquez did not struggle in the katsidis or diaz fights. the katsidis fight was A intense war with both guys throwing lots of punches. NOTHING MORE. diaz had his moments in the 1st bout but was getting countered effectively & was ko'd. in the 2nd bout he was outboxed & blown out. again. marquez did not struggle to BEAT daiz. let that sit in your brain.

you just compared maidana speed to Casamoyer & pac LOL maidana is a SLOW SLUG compared to pac. maidana is LITERALLY SWINGING in slow motion compared to those guys lol!!! its not that JMM is hard to hit. it's just that maidana is slow compared to JMM. and he loops his punches. slow wild looping fighters who come forward to JMM is a disaster waiting to happen. its almost like feeding food to JMM. i pointed towards the chop chop fight because he was countering maidana & almost beat him. a shot chop chop who no longer has a chin or who doesn't put his punches in combos anymore almost beat maidana just by countering him with 1 2's.

MAIDANA WILL END UP IN A MEXICAN BODY BAG TRYING TO PLAY SLOW POKE WILD SWINGING GAMES WITH JMM LOL.

Marquez beat Diaz and Katsidis pretty convincingly tbh.

WAR'S ONLY HAPPEN IF FIGHTERS ARE STRUGGLING WITH EACH OTHER. I can't believe your argument is that a fighter only struggles if they barely win a decision or get a split decision. That is seriously the dumbest thing anyone on this site has said that I've seen. Again, Marquez struggled with Diaz and Katsidis, two fighters he should blow out, because he has reached his weight limit and those two were too big for him to avoid their pressure.

Stylistically, Maidana is right for Marquez but all you have to do is look at Marquez lately and see that these bigger guys, despite being easy style matchups, are giving him great fights because they can push him around and Marquez is incapable of avoiding them. If Diaz and Katsidis can so easily push Marquez around, how the hell would Marquez avoid the same thing happening with Maidana, who is bigger, stronger, better, hits harder, and is even harder to avoid because there is no way Marquez can keep him off?

            Damn. I can't believe this. I'm done.

Well, yeah, knockouts are convincing, but he certainly didn't blow them out. He had a very hard time keeping them off. At 130 or 126, Marquez blows fighters like Diaz and Kats out inside six rounds and they don't touch him. That's my point. The only reason those two were competitive is because of their size. Guess what? Maidana is WAY bigger and is IMO definitely better than either of those two.

I think Maidana at 140 is WAAAAY to big and strong for Marquez. This might be the guy that walks right through everything Marquez has and laughs at him (Mayweather.)

marquez has the reputation of always getting up everytime he gets kd`d, and he proved it during his fight with katsidis. but i would say maidana, just because of physique disparity, would still overwhelm him. arguably marquez is one of those durable fighters but more so is maidana, and marquez yet needs to established himself above 135. maidana will be too much for him imo, winner by decision.
