Cotto came off a close very close win over Clottey (which is a good win despite begin beaten by Margarito before)

Hatton was coming off an impressive win over Paulie but he did get KO'd by Mayweather so you can argue both ways.

Barrera was coming off a series of straight wins over Morales, Kevin Kelley, Tapia, Hamed I think... I'm not 100% sure.
