This fight has the makings of a classic. I expect a Carbajal-Gonzalez type of war. Both have the power to put the other fighter down. Definitely a 50/50 fight.

And I don't understand why people don't give Montiel his due respect, have you seen his older fights? The guy was a beast...the complete package IMHO. He still is but back then he looked slick were as now he brawls a little bit more which I hope he can avoid when fighting Donaire. IMO he should revert back to his old counter-punching/defensive ways and attack with full force when he sees an opening from Donaire.

I think some of you need to see the Montiel vs Hasegawa
fight in JAPAN Montiel was losing the first 3 rounds yet Montiel broke
Hasegawa Jaw then loses the first half of the 4 round and KOs
Hasegawa
Remember Hasegawa was at banta for ever and should of gone up in weight but what ever Hasegawa is fast strong and bigger than Montiel
and Hasegawa has a way better resume than Donaire
Donaire has not done sh-it since Vic
Montiel is a proven fighter at banta and Donaire has not fought a
proven fighter Vic does not have the skills of Hasegawa Montiel or
Donaire
Montiel true skill is he thinks cool under pressure
Montiel by late KO if there's a decesion it would be a lopsided
decesion Montiel

He throws more compact punches and his accuracy is a hell of a lot better than it was 5 years ago. The only way I would worry is if Montiel gets cut, he didn't handle it well against Valdez.
