Ortiz is very good and when you see him fight it looks like he's got all the tools to be a great fighter...and as long as he can dominate the fight he's a beast. BUT When it gets tough in there and his opponent isn't going anywhere his confident is nowhere to be found. I just don't think he's mentally strong. Ortiz is lucky that Peterson isn't a big puncher or else he would've been KO'd in that fight.

Ortiz is the 140LB version of Allan Green.

I think Victor Ortiz should retire. Boxing is much too dangerous for him. He has been a shot fighter ever since that beating he took from Marcos Maidana.

Ortiz is not weight drain, stop making excuses. Peterson's jabs and cleaner shots were bothering Ortiz. If Lamont had some power, Ortiz might have quit again. GBP picked Lamont cuz he has no power but it backfired.

Lamont was doing a lot of running, holding, and holding and hitting. His jab wasn't even really that effective. Every time Ortiz chose to bum rush him, his jab did nothing to prevent that. The reason Ortiz would keep his distance periodically was becuz Lamont would hold on the inside, and would illegally hit during the clinches.

Weight drained or not, the above did happen.

People miss all that becuz they don't care to analyze all the little things. They just wanna harshly judge. Most don't even bother to watch the fight again to make sure they're first idea was right.

            I just watched this fight...

How the hell, did one judge give peterson the nod by 2 rounds, whilst the other 2 had a draw??

What the ***....I know Peterson did well, i really was enjoying watching some of the stuff he was landing...but seriously....i had 86-83 to Ortiz....

And is lederman off his head? he had it like 88-82 or something ******

Seriously...Ortiz won that fight, some of the rounds were close...but Ortiz won that

              I had Ortiz winning.

              But he better not rematch.

I got Peterson dominating him in a rematch.

I was just pointing out how Ortiz won't look that bad if u don't expect that much out of him.

Also I was pointing out that Lamont didn't look that good becuz he did a lot of running, holding, and hitting during the clinches.

Ortiz won that fight and was robbed...people are happy about it because they expect so much from Ortiz and love to see a talent like that not deliver to his full potential...also people forget just how good Lamont is, there were even rumors that this guy gave Mayweather tons of problems in sparring and his only loss comes to the number one guy in the division....people act like Ortiz was in there with some bum

ive seen the fight twice and both times all i noticed was ortiz holding back when he shouldnt have.. and also frustrated and its because he mostly threw power punches and no jabs at all.. he needs to learn how to set up his power..

your an idiot... you damn right he was weight drained he weighed 141 and (hydrated) to 156 soo he was definitley dehydrated pluss at the weight in he was walking up the stairs sooooo slowly... its not even funny he appeared dehydrated but he hydrated well enough and peterson was intimidated and fighting scared that it played into ortiz's favor..
