Spot on. I suspect they wanted those bigger gloves. Those big gloves help Khan cover up, so good move by Team Maidana imo. But this also makes it more likely for a KO to happen either way now. Good for the entertainment aspect of it I guess.....

eventually khan will have to rely on blocking punches with his gloves. he can't run forever. team maidana probably believes small gloves mean a small surface for khan to block punches.

Smaller glvoes mean mroe speed and power.

Khan has decent power, but world class speed.

Now seriously, Khan hasn't got a great defence in the pocket, infact it's weak, and he doesn't block that many punches with gloves either, he uses his legs much like Valero who doesn;t have much body and head movement, but uses his legs and range to hit and not get hit.
